Inside the New Messilah Beach Club

Over the weekend I was given access to visit the newly revamped Messilah Beach Club, one of the newest projects by TEC. The club first opened in the late 80s, and I’ve been to it a few times back in the 90s, but haven’t really been back there since.

I do remember how it looked and I can tell you the new beach club looks nothing like the old one. They didn’t just give it a facelift, instead it’s a completely new club built from the ground up.

The beach club will have the following facilities:
– Aqua Play Pool
– Wave Pool
– Splash Pad
– Kids Pool
– Infinity pool
– Kids play area
– Adventure tower
– Fitness Areas
– Basketball, Football and Tennis Courts
– Beach Volleyball Courts
– Water Sports Facilities
– Restaurants
– Events Hall

When I passed by most of the water areas had been drained from water, especially all the kids areas which is why they’re dry in my photos. But the club still looked really nice with aesthetics that match the newly face-lifted Gulf Road waterfront.

I think my favorite part of the club was the infinity pool and the beach. The infinity pool was surrounded by a wooden deck and overlooked the huge beach giving off a trendy resort vibe. The beach also now looks huge since they removed the trees that used to separate the club from the beach. Previously you couldn’t really see the sea from the club because the trees were in the way, but now it’s completely open and so it felt like I was on a beach in LA.

Entry to the club will be by membership or tickets. The prices haven’t been decided on yet nor is there a solid opening date since UPAC only recently won the tender to manage the club. It should open this year, hopefully before the weather gets cold.

In other TEC news, Mabanee (Alshaya) recently won the tender for the Hilton Mangaf location. That means Hilton will end up closing down and Alshaya will reopen it with one of their many hotel brands like Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria, St Regis etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if they also opened Equinox there. Back in 2019, Alshaya partnered up with Equinox but they haven’t done anything with the brand yet. I had heard they were previously trying to take over the Corniche Club location to turn it into Equinox, but they ended up losing that tender to what eventually became SVN.

felt like I was on a beach in LA ?

My goodness just to be able to write anything ha? smh

Are you that lame where you have nothing going on in your life for you to leave this comment about my personal opinion on a place you’ve never been to? Get a girl friend.

What a tragic comedy..

“The beach also now looks huge since they removed the trees that used to separate the club from the beach..”

The legend has it those old trees were once a great sanctuary for lot of birds as well as humans would take refuge under them during the hot summer.

Yup it was nice , but only the ones in the front used to get a decent view, also i can understand why the trees were removed, how else will they monetize the umbrellas and ensure they are being rented out

The trees were too far from the sea, most people used umbrellas anyway. It wasn’t even easy to sit under the trees due to the craters under them let alone spread out a towel.

If you read the post you’d know that none of the kids pools have water at the moment since the park is closed. I always find it very weird when people criticize and review a place without never having been there.

I recently asked the Hilton about the annual membership but they told me that they only offer the 4-month membership. Now I can understand the reason from your posting. Thanks for sharing the info.

Yeah I remember Corniche Club members ran into same issue and I think I had a friend actually who had a membership that lasted after their closing date but she never got refunded the remaining amount.

This looks great <3, Messilah was a summer hotspot for us while growing up, all the way from the lame burger bbqs at the beach to going to the multiple pools or water village, Super excited for this , thanks mark.

I took evening classes at old messilah beach and it was green and beautiful. They had boats and volleyball. Bungalows and greenery everywhere. The smell of lime trees … It felt like home.
But now dull.
Place where you go for 15 minutes to take a selfie to justify 15000 calorie meal u ate.
“Messilah concrete hotel” – come and see how we pour concrete on green lawn.

How did you get access to the new club since it’s still closed? Oh wait you didn’t, forgot how some people just hate on shit without even visiting places. The club isn’t open yet so maybe save your review for when it opens and you visit it.

I’m excited to visit once the beach opens. My husband and I moved to this area specially for this beach and then it closed! I’m not sure why people are hating on the kids waterpark area.. it looks just like small waterparks in the US.
Question for you, Mark – are there really splash pads?? I really miss taking my kids to these in the US.

Yeah there is a huge area that’s a splash pad, I couldn’t take pictures of everything because it’s not ready yet, for example wave pool was half full and had trash in it so not something I wanted to show.

Btw u can still access the beach from the area on the right, I noticed that while I was there and now thinking of taking my dog one day to play
