It’s back!

I guess the gelatin issue isn’t really an issue.

Because he loves Count Chocula but doesn’t know how to use it as an anabolic supplement ;]

You know this Halal&Haram thing is becoming confusing to me. All my life I learned that I can eat Kosher meats besides the Islamic equivalent. In my current work place, I’m surrounded by many bearded guys and the verdict here is that you can eat Christian produced meats as a 3rd valid option. It was a serious wtf moment for me cuz I’m sure this is new. I remember clearly when they used to say, Christians kills animals by shotguns and electrocution while Muslims should eat meats of animals killed using the proper slaughter method with a knife.

If you are also interested, I’ll tell you something from my experience in cheese. A major element in making cheese is called “Rennet”. It’s an enzyme that is mostly derived from animals. I emailed Sultan once asking about this “Rennet” source of their imported cheese and the answer was “animals”…so go figure if it’s Halal or not. I still have their email.

Another? In Sultan at the frozen foods aisle, I saw a man arguing (almost shouting) with the poor indian employee that it’s Haram to sell non-halal meats and he was holding pepperoni pizza boxes…didn’t verify them though.

Duke, if the animal is 7aram then every part of it is 7aram, even the gelatine!

3aziz, you are right, the irony is always there when it comes to people who look and pretend to be religious1

Let those people listen to what others tell them what is haram and what isnt without thinking for themselves. They can miss out on all those tasty things, it means more for me!

I am a ‘muslim’ and I eat anything from pork because it tastes sooo good. I don’t have listen to what others says, I think and decide for myself.

@ali How can you claim that after thinking you decide to eat pork, and still call yourself Muslim?
I’m not one of those extremists, but this still puzzles me..

@Seham, its even more funnier that my comment got deleted. lol… I guess Mark got a phone call, ‘delete that post or no more count chocula for you”!;p

@Saad, “Christians kills animals by shotguns and electrocution”??

LOL! yeah Christians like to pump their beef full of lead and then shock the heck out of it ๐Ÿ˜› Thats the way I like it ๐Ÿ™‚

Big Moe
You are trolling on others actions just like extremists, many things are considered haram by extremists including music.

I eat and drink everything, no one has the right to judge anyone, except god.

@Mathali: lol, yeah came to think about it now…I realized how they were trying to program us being kids and giving us false info on other faiths/beliefs. Now we spend the rest of our life hacking the code to break free.

in case anyone’s interested…from http://www.Islam-Qa.com

“Of the foods which are to be found nowadays, some of them are clearly haraam, such as dead meat [from an animal which has died naturally as opposed to being slaughtered properly] and pork. Some foods may contain ingredients and derivatives which come from haraam sources, so we have to find out where they come from so that we may know what the ruling is concerning them. The gelatin which was mentioned in the question may originate from the skin, muscles and bones of haraam animals such as pigs. Hence gelatin which is derived from collagen which comes from pigs is haraam, because it is as if the pig had been turned into salt. The most correct view is that it is haraam even if it has been changed, so long as it originally came from a pig.

@Saad – how else do you hunt for wild game without shooting it? My family has been hunters for generations (which basically has kept my family living) – how else do you bring down a deer? Sneak up on it and tackle it and cut its throat? I am not trying to be sarcastic, I really want to know. Islamically, how do you hunt for wild game to feed a family?

@Mrs. Mohammad: Actually you can be sarcastic, I won’t be offended because things need to be updated heavily in Islam. And I mean update our understanding of things and not change them of course; because we clearly misunderstood or misinterpreted our own religion in some areas.

has anyone ever thought for a second and asked this question:
if an animal is haraam or najs….then why did God create these animals in the first place?!

@TweeZ: Pre-synthetic Insulin, pig insulin is the easiest to convert to human insulin and this is where they got it from. You can imagine how many lives were saved by insulin.

Also, Pig organs, cells and tissue are the most compatible to ours “humans” and the idea of pig-to-human organ transplantation is always under research. It’s called Xenotransplantation. For the same reason, pigs are also good test subjects for drugs made for humans.

Again, animal benefits are not restricted to “eating” which is the Haram part we’re talking here. Ya3ni, you can’t eat pork but that doesn’t mean you cannot keep pigs in your farm if they serve a purpose.

@ Saad
good points, but I’m sure that some people would completely see that as “haraam” too.

I would also like to take this opportunity to say that I am not advocating the consumption of pork. I have my own “scientific” reasons other than haraam.

But what I do advocate is that I think everyone has the right to make their own choices in life without being criticized in any way shape or form.

Tweez,
Agreed. Only Allah can judge, not us. What we do (as long as we don’t hurt others) is our business and no one elses.

If I choose to drink alcohol then I’ll be paying the consequences and will probably go to hell.

@Saad

For research purposes you can purchase a ‘mini-pig’, these (as the name suggestes) are a small breed of pig bred especially for testing drugs.

Some people think that they are cute but in reality they are quite aggressive.

TweeZ God created animal and you human two doesnt mean that you go eat another human is normal, in our religion god permitted every thing expect few stuff pork, predators etc.. go has his wisdom ether its bad for us or he wants to test our faith both ways we have to obey , im not against free well but as you mentioned before its between you and your god you dont have to ุชุฌุงู‡ุฑ ุจุงู„ู…ุนุตูŠู‡ like our brother ali
and for Mrs.Mohammed
hunting to feed is hallal even if you hunt it killing it with knife will rest the animal from suffering , and you place the animal head toward qebla and al takbeer because you just took creatures soul away

@ Abo
please read my previous comment, I do not advocate the consumption of pork.

I guess some people just want to attack for the sake of attacking in the name of religion.
Roo7 maalat 3alayk o igra 3adl ya akhi.

I’ve never thought to ask this before but.. what about the use of leather goods? Is it forbidden to wear leather boots or carry leather handbags if the animal was not slaughtered according to halaal rules? What about playing with a football fashioned from pig’s skin? Is that a no-no or does that only apply to food?
