A friend of mine was having lunch at TGIF at the Avenues when he spotted Sopranos star, James Gandolfini. When he asked him what he was doing in Kuwait James replied that he was just visiting and that he loves Kuwait. According to the Washington Post it seems he’s in the Gulf as part of the USO to support the American troops. Damn I would have loved to have met him…

wi-fi: Why would a respected newspaper like the washington post publish an april fools joke on March 30th? You’re the only person that would think that people will find it funny if a newpaper said that James Gandolfini was coming to the Gulf to meet with the troops and then he didn’t. That wouldn’t be funny it would piss the troops off.

He was here on Arifjan today with several other stars. The soldiers that I work with were able to meet him and take photos. I was working on something important and couldn’t get away from my desk! It’s 7:25 and I am stil stuck at my desk at work…. :'(

Stars come to Kuwait to visit the military camps all the time, so it’s not surprising that he was in Kuwait. The question is: Was he at TGIF at the mall? Normally they don’t let them go out of the camp and wander around the city.
I can imagine him frustrated waiting for his meal: “Ohhhhh, where’s the Gabagoo!”
I am with Nobu …. Stars show up all the time but its very rare if not remotely possible that they ever let actors or performers brought in on an USO tour ticket out of Arifjan.. And if they did the world would know coz they would be surrounded by men in Green Suits& Flak Jackets carrying M5’s and M16’s. Even quite possibly KMOI closing of a section of the mall for security.
The article only serves to prove that he was quite possibly in the Middle East and in Kuwait.
However if it did happen Mark’s friend is extremely lucky to have met him in person but the question does arise… What no Mobile Phone Cam for a Pic? of the star moment? Considering that Mark is so Tech Savvy its hard to believe any of his friends wouldnt be carrying a late model Camera phone which a server coould easily use to take a pic…. Like they say a pic is worth a millon words 😉

this isnt james gandolfini’s first time in kuwait. i met him like 7 years ago and he was also coming to meet the troops. my friend and i bumped into him at the SAS hotel and even took pics with him but i lost the chip so i actually cant proove it. my friend even sat on the lap of one of the cast members of sopranos. james wasnt very friendly, or generally wasnt in the mood for any fans.
and if anyone thought it was an april fools, then it would be a very lame one :/
