I went jet skiing today and took my new cheap ass water proof camera (pictured above) to try out. The result? Astonishing! Because the camera is so cheap and poorly built I think while winding the film or rewinding, the internal plastics rubbed against the film scratching it. The end result were photos that look like they were taken decades old! The heavy vignetting (the darkening near the corners) also came out pretty cool. Overall I love the effect and it came as a complete surprise.

Today I went to the one right next to LeNotre on the gulf road. His jet skis i think are just a year old. Excellent like new condition. It costs KD10 for 40 minutes and KD15 for 1 hour.
Thanks mark
Loved the pictures. they look vintage
مارك انصحك انك تشتري كاميرا من سوني تصويرها عجيب

“Hey, look at my cool dead puppy. He’s so quiet!”
I’m deciding on which to get: flip mino hd, vado, and kodak… will see.
nothing better than olympus water proof shock proof crash proof camera…i have 1 and its great
he he he he i forgot!!!! Freezeproof and Dustproof sounds funny but its true!
Nice thing about cheap cameras, you get pictures that look 30 years old and look at that vignetting. You dont need photoshop
cool effect!
Besides the retro look, the photos look awful.
I found these waterproof plastic bags in Al-Boom Marine in Shuwaikh. You just put a digicam inside and shoot through them.
Besides being waterproof, it also floats.
I think it was 4KD or something. I picked one up but haven’t got a chance to try it out yet.
Where do you go Jet-Skiing and what did you pay?

it gives a vintage look to the photos, oh and pic #2 is funny, the jet is on the sand and still water is pumping out 😛
errrr… Abdullah.. isn’t that a scratch on the film and not water pumping out…is it?
Great stuff!
