Kababji Responds

Dear Mark, Readers and Valued Kabab-ji Customers,

We would like to express our sincere respect and appreciation to the blog post comparing Kabab-ji with its competitors as well as the constructive feedback received by the blog readers.

At the start, the comparison shown within the initial blog post was misrepresented, we contacted Mark and he took the kind liberty to amend the post which is now accurate and resembles a fair comparison.

As mentioned within the amended blog post, it is true, we do focus and pride ourselves when it comes to high quality meats that are delivered to our customers at the highest quality standards.

We are passionate about our meat and care about where it comes from. We distinguish ourselves within Kuwait by utilizing Australian bobby veal meat which is an extremely tender & lean nutritious meat produced in South-Eastern Australia , inspected and certified for export by AQIS (Australian Government Quarantine and Inspection Service) and AUSMEAT (Meat-Standards Australia). No meat leaves Australia without accreditation and certification by the above bodies, on every shipment.

Being meticulously selected from Australia, our Hallal bobby veal meat is unbeatable in terms of quality. Most importantly, the animals used are growth hormone and antibiotic-free, are fed a vegetarian diet and of course, are humanely raised.

Furthermore, once the meat arrives to Kuwait, our production facility specialists handle it with utmost respect and attention to the BRC standards which is a leading global product safety and global certification program, which our production facilities strictly follow on a daily basis. You can read more about BRC on their website: https://www.brcglobalstandards.com/

In the end, yes, we may be a bit more expensive when it comes to our products, but our customers are also paying for unparalleled quality and flavour, with safety measures on a global standard.

Thank you once again for your initiative and we will do our best to continue offering our valued customers with the highest quality products and services.

We look forward to receiving feed forward from Kebab-ji fans and comments that can help us improve and better serve our valued customers.

…So does everyone else, what’s their point, that they’re extra careful?

The fact of the matter is, this type of grilled meat is not a delicacy in Kuwait. There are plenty of small joints that offer delicious, filling, high-standard food as well, and for a fraction of the price.

Your competitors have got you beat. Instead of sending out a press release, work on development.

What wins me over is the fact that the animals have a good life and are humanely killed. Sometimes its more important than how many pieces of meat are included in a meal.

BS… not that I agree that turkish grill is good but there are plenty of good meat in the country and they do not cost this much

And please do not tell me that their tabbouleh parsley was well treated. Kababji’s prices are 15% for the materials and labor and the remaining are franchise fees and other overheads. please stop this BS

باب الحارة الجزء السادس

said it in the first post as well as with the second one and HERE again

I LOVE KABAB-Ji

but still Turkish Grill is better

taking care of food is a must not a service

again … TASTE people TASTE 🙂

haha to be honest, this is an example of good customer service; taking the time to explain the prices online and offering a personal phone number for further enquiries.

i’m going to kebab-ji this weekend!

Frankly speaking from where the meat comes doesn’t matter…what matters is the taste, quality and quantity. Chewing gum size chicken pieces and kababs fat as fingers dont make any justice.
My vote for Turkish Grill.

bullshit.. I love the fact that they used all the fancy words in the food industry guidebook to justify it.. lol..

Kababji’s responce is a good thing, it shows that they care and that’s a good thing.
Mark’s comparison didn’t show that Kababji is a bad restaurant with low quality food or taste.

Nooo, Mark’s study showed that Kababji offer really really small amount of food for way higher prices. Kababji should consider lowering their prices or increasing the amount of serving based on these prices because noone questions there quality of food or service, because it is a respected chain.

please explain to us why you charge Fils 950 for 1 tabbouleh or one hummus that is half the size of everyone else.. or may be its the new design plastic dish!
Just look at your outlet in the Avenues food court / almost empty…

Q80: I agree, my only reason for not having Kababji anymore is quantity. Fahad gave me a diet and told me I needed to have around 200 grams of protein for dinner. Kababji’s serving is around half that so i go with Villa Fayrouz or Turkish Grill which serve portions closer to the 200 grams mark.

Some people just enjoy bashing brands for no reason, for example one guy in the other post bashed Kababji for their terrible shawermas.. which they don’t even serve.

Is their taboulleh too raised in South Eastern Australia and inspected by AQIS? LOL
I need to know the answer.. because their taboulleh even costs more than the rest of the restaurants!

No… Tabbouleh is imported from New Zealand! Miguel with all due respect, your meticulously formulated corporate response does not address the issue at hand… Kababji is a fast food joint compared to Mayess Al Ghanim your price and portions are a challenge you need to address. I have been a customer for over 7 years, the recent price hike is ridiculous and as in regard to the qulaity of meat, you should taste Farah and decide for your self. Surely you can not expect to sell only based on brand equity!

“Most importantly, the animals used are growth hormone and antibiotic-free, are fed a vegetarian diet and of course, are humanely raised.”

Veal?!!!! Not even Lamb?!!!!
and I can tell you that Kababji and many other restaurants uses “meat tenderizer chemical powder” and by the way it is very bad for health.

Definetely Kababji is loosing customers.. Only way is to increase the quantity. Regarding the quality and hygeine, Kuwait Municipality is doing a wonderful job. We dont worry for that.

This is CRAZY! I will not eat any more KABAB or TEBOLA for the rest of this year! Meis Al Ghanem lost it too! If u want some real KABAB just make ur own dudes!

It is good when companies start paying attention to the blogs.
I don’t think I’ve ever eaten in Kababji but this post gave me the motivation to give them a try.

I think Kababji serves the saltiest food in Kuwait. I bet that their dishes satisfy more than 100% of your daily sodium intake.

btw Australian Meat is not more expensive then Newzealand (check sultan center) and we all know it, and for the records I ordered kababji recently to the office and what did I get same as Mark’ picture I was so pissed and stayed hungry.. I beleive when you call something on the menu a MEAL it should be at least with the amount that satisfy you.. I HATE the fact that they posted this just to justify their rates!! please I don’t care about the rate as much as I care about the meal average… right guys?!

Mark: Who said that kabab-ji they are not serving shawerma !! i saw before couple of weeks the shawerma in kabab-ji’s avenues branch.

I don’t know if they have it now or not, but who mentioned his experience with kabab-ji’s shawerma he’s totally right.

Humanely raised cows ? Really ? Please show me a certificate from a proper authority. BTW The food still needs a lot of work.

Mark, FYI kababji serve shwarama in avenues location which is overpriced and small comparing to others and even not that quality.
All the speech we read it here was a non-sense except if they do some action… why do i care if the meat is coming from Australia while other joints meat is up to high quality and tastes better with a bigger portion.
And it happened u made a review about the meat because of ur current diet, but what about the other items… everything is over priced with smaller potions in kababji and the quality is average… even in the photos the meal presentation is awful and extremely poor.
Moreover, the new pricing system in Kababji which includes this 5 Fils fraction is so silly and the oldest trick, are they making fun of us with the KD2.395 price instead of KD2.400. is it the only way to gain money??? their objective is to get this extra 5 fils from each customer since and for sure, no one will wait on the cashier to get the 5 fils change….. .

well, kababji is not good for who want to really eat and get full.
turkish gril is super !
and thank you mark i will try villa fayroz 🙂 seems nice to change cus i sicked with turkish grill cus of ther lovely quality and fast service !
for the Kababji resonse.. it is not for me ! 🙂

I dont understand this… the meat is said to be bobby veal? I just googled that and its said to be “calves that are slaughtered when only a few days old”… is that acceptable? isn’t it supposed to be eight months at least? (in Islam.. no?)

Come on Mark, that was a confusion about their shwermas and that person you are referring to is me. you dont have to give me hell for that. maybe if they made shwermas, it would be great and I apologize to Kebabji and Mark for ruining any distant dreams kebabji had for their shwermas. But in Kuwait, where you have thousands of competitors selling kebab sandwiches, Kebabji falls flat on its face. Kebabji’s KEBAB ROLLS taste terrible and they charge you a hell lot for it. I remember eating at a kebab shop in khaitan and it was 350 fils and it tasted fantastic. But price won’t matter if the food is exceptionally good. And all that talk of Aussie meat won’t impress me or any other Kebabji critics since the taste comes first 🙂

If they can proof this statement:

“the animals used are growth hormone and antibiotic-free, are fed a vegetarian diet and of course, are humanely raised.”

I’ll continue buy from them.

Mark: please continue on comparing products, services, food offered by loacal companies through your well read blog. This will raise awareness and compittition which is an added value to our community.

Why is B+F OFK burgers more expensive than Hardees? Why is the Meat Co. steak 10x as expensive as a TGI Friday’s steak yet its a fraction of the size? They are selling the brand name, in addition to good quality food.

Kabab-ji all the way!
I have never tasted better Arayes or kebab. Nor do I mind paying a bit more to ensure good quality and taste. I had a friend that started growing extra body hair and the doctors told her its all from the poultry and meat she’s eating that are being injected with hormones. I guess you guys wont feel the importance of quality until you fall in the pit.
PS. I dont know what kind of meat TG or any of the others sell, but if they can justify it the way Kabab-ji did, I will be more willing to eat there.

At the Avenues they increased their prices by 40% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that much??? Come on. When i asked for an explanation from the Manager he said these are our old prices. Dah, what an excuse.
