Keep Hashi Alive

Hashi

It seems there are rumors that Hashi is going to be closing down soon. I’ve only been there a few times and although the place isn’t my favorite sushi place I do like the interior a lot and their food is actually good. I would hate to see the place get shutdown and replaced by another Chili’s or something. As a sign of support to Hashi some people have started a Facebook group called Keep Hashi Alive. Here is the link in case you also want to join the group. [Facebook Group]

Hashi actually isn’t expensive. I used to hear about how expensive the place was and then when I went the first time I was like what? This is expensive? Whoever started the rumor that Hashi was expensive needs to go to Maki.

They will change it to Lail O Nahar…very soon..too sad it used to be ranked number one shop in terms of food creativity in Kuwait .

I was there last week, the waitress told me they’re closing this month and reopening Leila (the lebanese restaurant in Avenues) instead. I love Hashi, I hate to see it close 🙁

Well facebook group is just to show support and a way for the owners to read feedback and comments. Its not meant to be the solution to the financial situation of Hashi.

I dont see what the problem is, we’re in Kuwait if there’s one thing we’re good at is that we’re always at ample supply for all kinds of restaurants. Hashi closes, another good brand will open. Simple 😛

I liked Hashi. The first time I went there they had great food. About 2 months later I went there again and was so disappointed. They had cut down the menu to half of what they had on the menu 2 months earlier. Now if they are closing, it means they are not doing so well. Its a shame though that they have to close down. I would still like to have some of the great stuff they had on their original menu. I also disagree that it was expensive. Maki is a lot more expensive and so it Edo.

i love hashi but come on guys no one goes to it when ever i go there its only me or another table while u see johnny and leronzo full
i heard the owner will open up laylas the same as the one in avenues food court there i think it will be a good move for him or he can always replace it with nino 🙂

I agree, Hashi seems to be dying, no customers. even though me and my wife go there like once a month.

And please read my latest post and give your thoughts. MOC wants us to block Youtube.

What’s up with this recent Obsession of Japanese restaurants that people have had in kuwait for the past three or four years. Its really starting to get on my nerves.
When do we get to see real restaurants that offer food that is of a “michelin stars” quality, instead of restaurants that cater for and chosen by people that were brought up on hardees and hungry bunny.
I can sympathize with the “hungry bunny generation’s” desperate attempts in sophistication, however, this generation’s newly found infatuation with the likes of sushi and sashimi are beginning to give birth to creative monstrosities of the “abood roll” and “athary California roll”.

I went to Hashi once – great location, great looking decor, large staff, but the food is way overpriced compared to the quality of what you are getting.

I am not surprised its closing.

Great restaurants always have that ‘gotta return’ factor – Hashi never did.

ill be in Hashi salhiya tomorrow @ fo6o0r with some of my cousins to try out the restaurant one last time!
i really hate it when peoples hard work doesnt realize success, so this is my way of saying good work Hashi staff and better luck on your next venture!

I eat at Hashi once but I’ll never eat there again. Simply because the food is low on portion and it’s over priced than the normal places that I eat at ex. Sakura or wasabi.

sultana, before you say things like that.. check the group – try to figure out names behind it THEN claim that such an act is nonsense! we were just there today, friends day before yesterday.. eh !

I think that this is the right time in a right location that Waleed and Haidar has to open HASHI…… I was part of the opening team there, it was pure fun and I can say that whatever the price was, it was really reasonable as most, if not all ingredients, were fresh and imported…… I agree to some that I do miss the place, and the interior was very unique. those window shutters and graffiti wall were an amazing work of an artist….(www.ThomasKleinGroup.com – click on “OUR WORK” select HASHI JAPANESE …… to reminisce the place) ……. that black cod in miso cream sauce and the wagyu beef……yum yum! 😉
