Kuwait City in the Fog

The beautiful picture above was shot by photographer Fahad Al Enezi over the weekend. The photo made me realize now that the weather is great I really should take out my drone for a shoot although I wish my DJI Spark had a better camera on it . Anyway, check out Fahad’s instagram for more photos [Here]

The Spark has a nice camera. However you can’t land your spark in the fog because the ground sensor is confused by the fog (and there is no manual override for this). The spark will keep trying to land, thinking its at 0 altitude and will eventually fall out of the sky after the battery dies. You’ve been warned.

The Spark doesn’t really have a nice camera, I’ve already used it for a few things, it’s fairly low res. I actually tried strapping my iPhone to the bottom of the spark with a self timer so I could get better photos but sadly turned out the iPhone was too heavy for the Spak to carry. I did manage to strap a GoPro 6 to it thought.

Also there is a manual override, you can force the spark to land anywhere.

i don’t have to google it, i have the DJI Spark and I’ve forced it to land when it told me it couldn’t. There is a switch you swipe right on the screen that allows you to force the DJI Spark to land.

No that doesn’t do it. That just forces it to land if there are no obstructions. You cannot turn off the VPS.

Turning off the VPS would allow for the drone to land (actually crash) to the ground at full speed (very dangerous for a beginner drone).

You’re the queen of reddit anyways, check out the many posts about this.

I lost my spark last year to this. I was flying above Hamra on a very cloudy day and was filming some amazing stuff, then it got stuck in the clouds. I really started panicking because the area is full of roads cars and people and I knew it would eventually crash. Thankfully I positioned it over that construction site that caught fire in Sharq, where it eventually crashed.
