Kuwait’s First Female Olympian Swimmer

I just found out about Faye Sultan, Kuwait’s first female Olympian swimmer who’s going to be heading to London this summer to represent Kuwait in the Olympics. She’s only 17 years old and blogger Ali Almawash managed to get an interview with her which you can check out [Here]

According to Faye, Kuwait is still suspended from the Olympics and if things aren’t sorted by the time the Olympics starts she’ll be swimming under the flag of the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA).

I read a few days ago that we had a female swimmer. That kind of news should be spread on the front pages of our newspapers.

I hope she does well at the Olympics. There are a lot of young Kuwaiti boys (meaning teenagers+) whom are studying in the States for the sole purpose of having an international level of swimming training.

I do hope she’s one of them. We want her to have a fighting chance, not lose from the first round.

Either way, Way To Go Fay. Good Luck!!

The water polo team is at their prime, they compete at Olympic levels, My friend Wahab Al Dousare is the captain of His team, they won several champion ships, yet, they barely receive funding and publicity. It’s a shame, considering soccer receives the most funding yet, they perform like utter shit.

He even said it himself, no one notices them anymore.

My guess she probably didn’t want the attention of our media. her being a girl could backfire. could even dissolve the next national assembly!

Wishing her best of luck.

What a shame, it’s like the government is trying real hard to distroy the lifes and dreams of its athletes…

LOL @ Ahmad. Sad but true. The only thing that is ruining Kuwait and the entire Arab region are those damn people.

wela bl 3aks we have a lot of talents.

Shes a good inspiration for the children today in Kuwait since there are a major lack of people our kids can look upto in this country.

Man I’m from Qatar but I fuckin love everybody on this thread and Faye (though I don’t know her). It’s so reassuring to know there are open minded people around.

what a shame a rich country cant take care of their athletes.. mno el ahbal ely masek el reyatha 3indena?
