According to this article on Al Watan it looks like tints might be legalized. 30% tints would be allowed on all cars and all windows except for the front windshield.
I hope this happens since I love tints and I heart Huper Optik. I can’t imagine driving in the summer without a car tint anymore since a good tint makes HUGE difference. [Link]

I hate car tints. I bought my car and it had the best Vcool tinting all around. first thing i did was to remove them
When you’re inside my car you can barely tell there is a tint and my tint is pretty dark.
Are you sure they’re allowing 30% tints because that’s very dark.
The percentage in tints is always referring to the percentage of light allowed to pass. So 30% tints is darker than 70% tints.
We do it the opposite way. 30% tint is 70% light.
MOI doesn’t even have a method to calculate the tint percentage.

Khurram in this part of the world they refer to the level of opacity of the film, so 30% is your 70%.
I don’t really get what the fuss is all about, why ban them if they’re good for people and save fuel and provide some privacy for the privacy fanatics! I’ve been driving for around 4 years without a tint and I haven’t melted but I bet If I put on a good tint I’d feel more comfortable.
If it gets guys to follow girls less why not
MOI Must allow some models of the (Tinting Film) from the companies such as HuperOptik, V-Kool, etc.
And the way to do it right, is to put MOI Emblem between the glass and that tinting film. (So it cannot be removed.
And when you pass by a police check point, they know that tinting film is approved by MOI. And leave you alone.
And should have some kind of calculator to know if the tinting film which is sold is legal or no.
(That’s later on the yearly inspection)

this doesn’t make sense,, it’s all about the visibility! so a 30% from Vcool should be same as “share3 alzeena” quality 30%
30% tint from vcool would be same tint degree as sare3 zeena but not same quality. Have you ever tried wearing sunglasses that cost 500fils and ones that cost kd50? there is optics involved and share3 zeena tints are like that 500fils glasses, it’s not good for u.
I meant, that MOI give the permission to the tinting companies with approving some models, but the Emblem should be supplied from MOI for each windows tint.
And that emblem only can be fixed by the certified company and those specific film model.
That emblem will be fixed between the glass and the tint, so it cannot be removed easy.
All these things cost money I’d rather not spend 😛 (They’ll pass on the costs to you)

I think there is a different between the car tints and “clouding” the car. Since the first one means to fix a sticky black roll on the window. while the other one is clouding the window which can be done by buy the whole window.
So, are both of them will be legal?????
