My first Aramex packages after the new rules

I had two packages delivered to me after Aramex set up the new rules and my experience has been mixed and here is why.

I had two packages, one containing a computer the other tshirts.

Arrived to Kuwait on: 08/11/2009
Paid: KD5.5 for shipping + KD1 handling charge

Computer
Arrived in mailbox on: 31/10/2009
Shipped from mailbox on: 02/11/2009
Arrived to Kuwait on: 08/11/2009
Paid: KD18 for shipping + KD1 handling charge

So the good news is computers don’t get held in customs. The KD1 extra charge is annoying on small packages but not a big deal on big important ones.

The bad news is it took over 2 weeks to get my tshirts.. whats up Aramex?

i was just thinkin to do a big shipment -big parts for my car!

any suggestions other than aramex!

that’s weird, must be a Kuwait thing. here in Bahrain Aramex has been surprisingly good lately, thinks take 2 days from the UK, and 4-5 days from the US (from the time they enter the mailbox to home delivery).

hi, i wanted to buy a desktop from the US and i was wondering how much would it cost to be delivered by aramex, if its 19 kd then i will go for it …..does any one know??

Well what they told me was that a backlog was created because of the new rule and so they had some to clear out. But I am not sure.

What new computer did you get? And did you just receive your packages today?

Did they show you the printed order of the custom rule? or are they just expecting you to take their word for it?

I asked fedEx and they say they have heard no such thing o.O

I am building my Custome Gaming Rig, with Parts Mostly From Amazon,

So you have ordering the ATI 5000 series, go ahead, i bought an EVGA GTX 285 FTW and it went without customs, bought 2 Intel SSD’s X25-M G2 with total price of around 600$ and didn’t went to custome ( mostly because the package is trivial in size) but most probably when ever aramex writes on the package the time of item as ( Computer Accessory) it passes.

I am getting today around 10 packages from Aramex, i’ll update you about them. knowing that the total price for those packages are more than 300$

I’ve been using DHL Easyshop after these new rules from aramex and they are super fast and cheaper than aramex

using the aramex calculator and adding the extra 1KD, thats actually cheaper than aramex and much much faster

only downside is they don’t deliver, you have to pick your shipments yourself

Hey i would go for DHL.. my stuff is in the mailbox since almost 2 weeks now.. and they haven’t shipped it.. How much does the DHL mailbox cost. The website does not give me any information on this..

Come on Kuwait, gives us a small shipping company operating from US to Kuwait only and getting the packages for cheap!

I have signed up for DHL as well. Another great advantage using them is that their US shipping address is in Ohio not New York. This means that you don’t get the almost 10% Tax that New York applies. Ohio does not apply any taxes. Tried it myself 🙂

I have signed for usws and just cant wait to receive my first package throw them .. As matter fact Mark I see your previous posts regarding them are very positive but i dont know why you still ship throw aramex .

Sorry about the Tax information. Actually some sites do apply taxes to Ohio. My nordstrom order applied the Tax. But when I ordered from Neiman Marcus they did not apply the Tax to Ohio, but they do apply it to New york.

Haven’t used Aramex before.Could someone please explain how do I go about ordering something online from eg. USA?

ur better off not using Aramex. Try U shop we ship or DHL Easy shop…or any other option….u will find the details of how to use the service from their sites itself….

If anyone do not mind. can i blog about this (i mean using the These kinds of services. ) I won’t make it long, i cant’t actually its that simple, but so many people have actually asked this question i feel like helping them?

I received 5 packages yesterday from Aramex and here are the details:
first package KD3 (0.5lb)
second KD1.7142 (0.4lb)
third KD1.2857 (0.3lb)
fourth KD19.3389 (8.15lb)
fifth KD4.6271 (1.95lb)

These packages should come to a total of KD30 (KD29.9659), then I was charged KD1 on each package for handling plus KD8.750 for custom tax. I think they are robbing us in broad day light! and I am definitely going to join DHL! I have been using Aramex for about 7 years and i order online through them on a monthly bases but this increase in shipping charges and now handling and custom tax is ridicules! and they have lost me as a customer till they fix their charges and their delivery timing!

did ur laptop coming broken/scratched or anything defict with it?

cause im thinking of ordering a laptop by idk whether to send it to my friend in the us and bring it with him or just aramex it

got 3 packages today non of them were opened at all and they were sealed in the original box. They charged me the regular shipping cost plus clearance!

I think clearance is going only to the pocket of Aramex !

i would like if you would make a post on your blog or so regarding it.

to HeartBeat, if you think your package wasn’t opened because the Big Shipping/Invoice Label on top is intact, then you are wrong, they open the package from the bottom ( other side ) the evidence is that you see an Aramex double tape on that side ( new one over the old torn one )

i had 9 packages yesterday, 3 or 4 of them came in a document casing form ( seemed very small) those weren’t opened ( thought they were documents where they weren’t )

noticeably, one of the package written on it HANDLE WITH CARE IN BOLD FOND looked like been used as a football by customs employees..

i have order laptop from Sony and it arrive on the 31 Oct up to now armex telling it is hold by the custom ,why they tooking this time , why custom are slow why we have to face this everywhere we deal with govermet by the way who in charge of custom what is his ability and degree does he know about other countries way in custom i know that we are far away from them.
armex is not doing anything to help improve their services i have notic that it it getting slower and slower i am changing to DHL for sure now two weeks fro laptop to come to me 5 day in USA and now with this custom .

i donot see future with armex , some told me who work in shipping that the real issue was unleagle ******** was cought in armex and it started this miss .

do they charge 5% for the total cost of $100 or each item thats over $100 ? so if i ordered like 3 things that cost $50 and the total was 150, do i still have to pay the 5% ?
