Nixon watches now in Kuwait

The watch store “Write.Time” at The Avenues are now the official dealers for Nixon watches in Kuwait. Problem is they’re selling the watches for nearly double the price they sell for on Amazon. For example the Time Teller P series watches similar to the pink and blue one above cost around KD14 on Amazon while they’re selling them for KD28 in Kuwait. The Rubber Player series similar to the green, blue and black watches on the bottom left of the picture below sell for around KD38 on Amazon but KD72 in Kuwait. So the good news is we now have Nixon watches in Kuwait, the bad news is they’re over priced.

I’m sure amazons rent is like a million times higher than a shop at the avenues but put that aside for a second, as a consumer does it matter how much the store rent is? The consumer cares about the price of the product which other stores in avenues seem to match US prices or sometimes exceed it by a chunk but double the price for a non electronic item like a watch?

Things will always be overpriced in Kuwait as long as there’s a demand for it from fools who are willing to pay those ridiculous prices.

I like them, I ordered once one from urbanoutfitters.com same like the 1st pic the one in the middle, the pink and baby blue, I got it in white mixed with yellow, i cost me shipping from US to US, and tax, and shipping to Kuwait like 20 KD still cheaper 😀

Yes Nixon is a great street wear brand, They have great other models you can check their website.
I ordered the Time Teller P (2nd picture top right in bleu ) very good watch for sport and swim I order it from a US website for 60$.

To those of you who dont have a clue about how wholesale and retail works which is obvious most of you do not. In the Middle East all prices are compared to the European market and not the American market, most products especially if American will obviously be cheaper in the United States than Europe and the Middle East. Most of these fashion brands have headquarters in Europe, Nixons headquarter in Europe is in the South of France. In addition all prices are decided by the main office abroad and not the distributors in Kuwait, they send SRP or RRP ( Suggested retail price or Reccommended Retail Price). Also taking into consideration Key money and rent of the location the prices are a bit more expensive for a number of ligit reasons. With regards to the Nixon brand, its a fashion brand for men and woman whom are trendy, funky, and enjoy extreme sports. They also have very funky headphones which i heard should be arriving soon to Kuwait. I am a watch fanatic, IWC, AP, Rolex, and i also wear brands like Nixon and ToyWatch. Always purchase the watch from the country you live in because not all brands have international warranty, even if its a bit more expensive its worth the minimal difference. In conclusion whether comparing Nixon prices or any American brand you always need to take into consideration how business works, companies cannot just put any price they want, it doesnt work like that. And to be honest an average price of 30-50kd for trendy funky watches is extremely reasonable.

As someone who buys 90% of my stuff online , all of this talk that these watches are more expensive here is nonsense.

First of all – if u order from amazon , yes it is cheaper , BUT as TT mentioned, the watches here are based on european prices not US.even if ordered from the UK website,1) there is no gaurentee they are authorised resellers 2) u end up paying shipping AND 5 % custom duties. SO by the time it gets here, uve paid more than u would if purchased locally.

Second of all, net-a-porter ( authorised reseller) sells the watches as well for £55 ( approx. 21 KD)… Given with this website all you pay for is shipping ( custom duties are built into the price) , the total comes out to £65 ( 29 KD). So the arguement that they are more expensive is null and void 🙂

With regards to things being more expensive here, yes they are on a lot of levels, BUT with these brands where the retailer has exclusivity, that’s not the case.

Nixon is a brand that suits all ages and tastes, and there’s a lot more than just the time teller. Yes, there is a ceramic chrono that’s automatic that’s around $1000- its lovely 🙂 I myself love the chrono that’s turquoise…

Bottom line is – if u want to pay taxes, shipping , and on top of all that custom duties, go right ahead and keep telling yourselves you’re getting a bargain 🙂

you two boys sound like you own the place. the price of the watch is 14 dinars on Amazon, add 5 for shipping thats 19 dinars which is still around 10 dinars cheaper than kuwait. thats including the 1 dinar aramex takes for customs. i don’t care if your prices are european for me as a buy your prices are much more expensive than amazon and i have no reason to buy it locally.

your excuses are also not relevant since you are not the first people to sell items in kuwait.

as much as I hate the watch, I have to agree with whatever TT and abc said..

compare EU prices rather than US for almost anything you buy online.. from electronics to cameras to everything.. I’m in UK and I can understand why kwt prices are ridiculously expensive,, just like UK!

there is also one important factor to consider.. some people hate waiting! I used to pay for next day shipping sometimes while I lived in the states even though it may be like 20 dollars more.. but I don’t want to wait a week! same thing with aramex.. who wanna wait two weeks if you can get it locally? hell even the extra 10 is worth it to me .. unless u r being too cheap.. and of course add the warranty and service u get

Get facts straight and check other websites…amazon is not authorized to sell these watches first off:) secondly, unfortunately I do not own the place , but I do love the brand.

The fact that they sell the watches does not mean they are authorized retailers buddy. Key word Authorised. And if you are going to buy the more expensive styles I think alot of smart customers would care about warranty. And like abc said i wish the place was mine, but I do work in wholesale and retail and have been for many years, therefore I want to educate consumers like you who think retailers in Kuwait are ripping you off. If you need anymore clarifications or have any questions let me know. Cheers.
