No one talk to me

Just found out how much my car will cost to repair…

Labor: KD496.300
Parts: KD1004.450
Misc: KD30
————-
Total: KD1530.750

note: this is to repair some things in my BMW not Wrangler. Also on a positive note, the service is extremely friendly.

Dealers make their money from repairs and maintenance. 7aram Mark. You might as well invest in a new car.

alghanim are rip/offs when it comes to maintenance. i once has a fault with my car and they billed me for 680, i took it to a well known garage that deal with German cars and i ended up paying 320,talk about a difference

Well I found the biggest culprits.

Fixing the sunroof headliner (the shade thing that opens and closes for the sunroof), plus replacing the rubber around the door, plus replacing the rubber around my small rear windows costs KD738 with labor.

No its not, its worth this much to pay for mechanical problems but not for superficial problems.

I think I am going to go ahead and have them fix the mechanical and some other problems but ditch the main 3 superficial problems that will cost me 700kd to fix. That should bring the cost down by nearly half.

I do not think it’s a good idea to take a car to the dealer to get it repaired if it doesn’t have a warrenty on it!

My Land Cruiser forexample! I went to Al-Sayer to get the brakes and clutch done and they were charging me about 350 and they said it will be even more if they need to do other things!

I took it to a garage in Shwaikh and got all that and more done for less than 200!

Thats why you have to think if u can afford maintenance first before you think if you can afford an European car.

nibag
the pants isue were TriStar the BMW motorcycle dealer which is diffrent than car dealer
For marks pants we have an explanation for the big delay!! i guess mark is happy with pants isue

Too much for all that! Something must be something with all the damn margins they have. Like you said fix the mech problems and leave the rest, too much of a rip off!

OMG .. These superficial problems will cost KD738??? .. Damn .. that’s really … TOO much

God bless you 😀

BMW dealers have the same reputation everywhere – clean, friendly, knowledgeable, but robbers all the same. Here in Canada, the spring oil change “special” for my wife’s relatively new Honda Accord was $C 29.99 including parts, supplies and disposal charges. The same service for my Bimmer 3-series was $C 349 – the dealer told me it was so high because the technician had to be thorough when doing the work! The spring service charge for my Jeep Grand Cherokee was ZERO as I was given a no-charge lifetime routine maintenance (including all oil, fluid and filter changes and minor maintenance such as lights, fuses, etc.) card as a promotion when I purchased the Jeep.

make sure you get your discount .. If you are persistant they give 15% on BMW parts. If they are out of stock and get some parts from the local market, they won’t discount them. I fell for that trap since i thought they can discount local parts as well, I ended up paying 900 KD.

Alghanim is a total rip off. Try Royal Garrage in Schwaik. I’ve used them exclusively for the last 3 years for service on my VW and have never had any problems….. And they’re extremely friendly.

olllaaaaaaAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well that’s BMW for you :/ I just had to pay 125KD to replace ONE TYRE!

Like you said, the rubber and sunroof are totally unimportant. 700KD 7arameya
