Because there are fewer people on the roads and fewer factories working right now, the air quality in Kuwait has to be the best I’ve ever seen compared to 358 “Hazardous” which was the highest I’ve seen it reach. Source

It reached 17 in Bayan on the 7-8th of March
The world is a better place with remote work & distance learning. the pollution metrics and nature are showing it.
Well it was RED unhealthy 2 days back so I’m not sure really that there is a direct relation to it. Ive been tracking it daily with a customized dashboards on PowerBI to see any trends… Yep im that bored!
Not really the case as it gets significantly better during winter months
It’s 147 now.
Particulate Matter (PM 2.5) is a measure of the tiny particles in the air. It is common for places with a dusty climate to reach high levels of PM 2.5.
A better indicator of how “bad” Kuwait’s ambient air quality as induced by industry or general population behaviors is to monitor other parameters that are not significantly affected by dust.
For example, levels of NOx and SO2 are directly correlated with the air pollution generated by vehicles, equipment, industry, power plants, and oil&gas facilities.
Kuwait EPA has ambient air quality monitoring stations all around Kuwait (including NOx/SO2). You can check out the following link for their live monitoring.

I know many may discredit the source as it is a Kuwaiti governmental authority – they might be a bit biased but that’s the best we got currently.
For Kuwait, US Embassy AQI is a good indicator of visibility but I guess you can tell if you just look out the window. US Embassy AQI can be useful when the sky is clear (not dusty).
