On the Other Side by Ibrahim Al-Mazeedi

Ibrahim Al-Mazeedi is a Kuwaiti country musician whom I posted about early in the year. He just released another song which you can listen to above. This is what Ibrahim had to say about this song:

I have released a new single – a very touching and personal one. It can be related to anyone in the Arab region. But I wrote it about Kuwait. Tell me what you think… listen to the words carefully.

A few responses to the comments above

Firstly, the style of the song was meant to be recorded in a way that it would sound live. That means some mistakes and glitches were left.

Secondly, why do I have a feeling that none of those commenting on the song have AT ALL given the words some thought…?

i LOVE the lyrics. not the best but surely not as bad as the comments above. i am actually impressed. by the way, it takes a lot of courage for him to sing in such a style in a second language. stop believing you are simon cowell guys.

I actually think it’s very good. Since most of you asses don’t know how difficult it is to write a half decent song, I wouldn’t imagine that you would appreciate it. And the words are actually very thoughtful.

Ibrahim, good job, man. While I’ll agree that your vocals could be improved with a bit of training, you’ve got a lot of talent. Don’t listen to these fools; I know it’s not easy putting together a song, and you do a good job of it. Keep at it, man – I look forward to hearing the next one.

YOU GUYS are mean…seriously..its not that bad..the problem is he doesnt have that country voice thats all..hes from kuwait so it hard to get the country accent…but good job..noce voice

Amazing work man, its actually pretty impressive how u managed to mix country music with kuwaiti culture. I really loved the song the lyrics feel very real and personal, and that’s whats country is all about. And plz dont listen to those losers who were tryin to make fun, i bet they cant even do a fraction of what u did. Keep ur head up and never give up, we’re all here with u cowboy 😉

For those who liked it: Thanks alot for your generous comments :)- mostly for understanding that it’s not that easy putting together a meaningful song…both lyric-wise and guitar-wise.

For those who didn’t: Thank you for your input- and I will take into account some of your criticisms in the future 🙂

God Bless you all

I really liked it. We sometimes do really forget the little things around us, let’s not be so negative in believing the grass is greener on the other side. It’s green enough already here and it will get greener.
You need to work on your vocals though but all in all it was a good song. Great job.
You’ve got my support 🙂

Your vocals are decent and nice to hear, and most importantly expressive, I think that you’ll be able or even capable on country standards and I didn’t feel any sort of offbalance of both your vocals and the music you’re playing which I think was truly well executed thus I hope for your success and honing of your skills. By the way it’s just that you’ve said that you’re a kuwaiti that people started bashin you with bad reviews so keep it up Ibrahim and don’t take everything in some of things you take in might be spoiled ^_^.

Yeah one more thing I forgot to add, the fact that u said your mother makes cake are you for real man?, moms don ‘t make cake >_< they make machboos, you know like the real kuwaitian food unless your parent is a foreigner well that's another story. xD
