I was heading home from my late night walk when I spotted a large palm tree on fire and I managed to capture the incident on video. This happened in Salmiya on the corner of the roundabout next to Farah. The flashing light at the end of the video is a fireman telling me to stop recording. [YouTube]

Wow is it just me or has there been many fire incidents lately that i keep hearing about.
I really hope Kuwait starts to enforce Fire Protection codes strongly on buildings, especially dated buildings.
I just hope this wasn’t caused by some people trying to burn trash, i have seen that happening many times around Kuwait.
He can’t enforce you to stop, it is your right to record.

Why the hell does he even dare to ask you to stop filming? As a fireman he has no authority anyways, none what so ever! Even a cop can’t legally tell you to stop filming. Fuck this rampant abuse of power which has become the norm.

it wouldnt happen to be one of those palm trees that they light up like a christmas tree for decorative purposes would it? i remember that happening with the “trees” outside the original food court opposite fanar, blame that on shoddy wiring.
