I finally got to pass by Payless over the weekend. Payless is the X-Cite Electronics outlet and they’ve been open for a couple of years now (I think) but never really had a reason to pass by until now. I was looking for some Alpine components for my car sound system and I was told I would find some models at Payless. I didn’t end up finding what I was looking for but I still found the place interesting. They had a lot of random stuff all over this large warehouse and some looked like great deals while others didn’t seem discounted at all. They had a lot of laptops, phone accessories and I even spotted a bunch of Sonos devices. They’re located in Shuwaikh near the main Alghanim head quarters opposite City Center. It should be easy to spot since the warehouse has a large yellow sign on top.
Since we’re on the subject of good deals I managed to get my hands on an Alpine PDX-4.150 car stereo amp for just KD21! The retail price for this Amp was $399 in the US before it was discontinued and that’s without tax or shipping cost to Kuwait so KD21 is ridiculously cheap. For some reason X-Cite is getting rid of all their Alpine stock so you can find some really good deals.
If you’re interested in the PDX-4.150 I took a snapshot from their point of sale system showing all the available locations where they might still have them. I passed by the Hawalli and Marina branch but they both didn’t have them even though the computer says they did so I marked them both out. The Rai branch is where I got mine (it was the last piece) and the Baitak Tower branch has one on display but missing some accessories. That leaves 3 other branches which I didn’t pass by but they should have a piece each left so good luck finding one.

Yeah this is right next to my work and I go there on my break sometimes but the vast majority of the time they have trash there. Like covers for discontinued ipod models and such 😛

they used to be located on the 4th ring road when they first opened but then they moved it to the warehouse in shuwaikh.
last week i bought a desktop PC got a good deal ACER intel i5 with 1TB for 129 KD.
iPod touch 3g is pretty cheap there : 25KD for the 8gb one. I sold my battered second hand one for this price.
The only issue is – they don’t warranty anything. I did not buy the 25KD iPod touch because the guy said he doesn’t know if it is new, or used, or repaired.

Yup! I received my Infinity Kappas yesterday BTW. glad customs didn’t cause troubles as it was shipped in a sliced pepperoni box. Waiting to get them put in along with the alpine type Rs

It is at the opposite side of City Centre Shuwaikh, where Alghanim Garage is located. I believe they’re selling previous display items or maybe even returned or exchanged products from their Xcite showrooms. I’ve been there a couple of times and I found their prices still a bit high for the condition of the items.. There are some good deals though, mostly on watches, mobile and iPod cases..No harm in checking it out anyway.

I was there a while back (4 months?) and they told me their stuff was “reconditioned”, hence the lack of warranty, so beware!

I always look for the out of carton sales that happen every now and then here in Kuwait. But if you say that this place in Skuwaikh is what it is, then i guess this is something like that out of carton sale. I bought a Nintendo Wii for KD 35 from one of these sales, and now i want to pick up an Xbox 360 with the Kinect. Anyone knows if the warehouse has any for sale there? Thanks guys!

I was there about 2 weeks ago, and they had 1 or 2 Star Wars Kintect XBoxes, but i cant remember their price.
They also have XBox accessories loke microphones for rock band and some other big stuff, i dont remember, go check it out 🙂
