I just got an email telling me that in a few days time the first ever PUMA store is going to open up in Kuwait and also for the first time, a Nike concept store. The email didn’t mention where in Kuwait they’re opening but I am assuming The Avenues. Here are two exclusive pictures of both stores.
update: They will either be opening today or tomorrow and it’s confirmed, they are opening at The Avenues.
update 2: OK, another update, turns out they already opened up today morning. Both stores plus an Adidas store are all inside the new concept Athlete’s Foot store next to Va Va Voom. Doesn’t sound as exciting as having individual stores but will pass by for lunch and check it out.
update 3: Hopefully the final update. The stores are SIS (stores in stores). They carry the same exclusive stuff as the individual Puma and Nike stores. Problem with Puma and Nike is that if they open a flagship store they have to be the actual owners which is not possible in Kuwait. So in Kuwait this is the closest we are going to get to having individual stores. Adidas on the other hand are ok with selling you the franchise hence the Adidas store at Marina Mall.

I don’t remember seeing a nike/puma signs at the avenues .. wonder where they put em.
Nike, adidas, reebok & puma are all in grand avenues…
Nice! The only place I’ve ever seen a full-fledged Puma store was in DC so it would be cool if they had one in Kuwait as well.
I wonder if they’ll carry the Neil Barret line or Alexander McQueen’s….
keep us posted
cheers
WoW that would be so cool.
Finally a puma store in q8, hope they get some good stuff
Something about that cleavage in the puma store tells me this isn’t in Kuwait.
Orient sports has the Dealership for PUMA in Kuwait [TAF , Footlocker , GO Sport get them directly from PUMA on a ‘exclusive to…’ basis]
Sun and Sand Sports Dubai has Nike dealership for Kuwait [previously with Sportsman aka riyadi ] but what i have heard is ‘the malls’ are denying them a spot because they will monopolize the sports market …. so there is no chance for a nike exclusive any time soon…..i may be wrong…..
well the person who emailed me I know is a reliable source. plus the fact that he said they are opening in a few days time and judging by the pictures we won’t have to wait very long to find out ๐
Just checked the EXIF data on the images, they were taken by a Nokia E65 on July 28th.
Probably this is the new sports corner near alganim [ used to be the Boushari showroom] … they are in the last stage of displaying the showroom …
urgh no dude, that place is next to my house and the interior looks cheap plus they are more focused on Champions and Adidas there.
These 2 pics are of two new stores, a Puma store and a Nike store.
Sports Corner is taken over by Boushari and are opening a huge 3floor showroom in the place where the Boushari [camera’s] used to be [Next to ALganim ELectronics Salmiya] .Becaue the old Sports corner near Al Thuraya complex is being demolished .
ok , i must be wrong , anyway we will wait .
yeah i know that, its near my house.
ok, turns out we won’t have to wait long. They are either opening today or tomorrow at The Avenues.
i thought u already working on their campaign.
steve they are not our agencies clients.
I would be curious about their pricing policy!
thanks mark for the updates. keep them coming ๐
??? Puma is being sold in all sorts of sports outlets in Kuwait for years. What would a Puma dedicated showroom add to the scene?
I’ll be waiting for more updates, till then I’m really existed to know that there might be a possibility to have’em in Kuwait.
I hope they will cheaper than Nike stores in Egypt.
Theres a Nike store in the 360 mall..
these stores have limited stuff fo sale…last time wen i visited these stores i wan 2 buy shoes but dey don hv of m size den i select d another 1,but d same thing happen again…..WHAT S DIS???
Its so funny that kuwait has a strong buying power but the stores fail to provide variety. for 2 months i have been searchin for nike airmax 360 shoes and cant find em anywhere. i think its better i fly down to dubai and get my choice of shoes as there is alot of variety. and the nike store is in 360 but again its got useless unmotivated sales ppl and no variety.
