I have to admit it, Kuwait has racism between both Kuwaities ( 3eeme, 7’6ry, bdwy, senny, shee3y, wld 3ayla, wld 8abeela ) and we even see those problems on TV

and non-kuwaities, some kuwaities do treat indians/philopinos/lebanese etc… bad or say somthing bad to them.

Racism is spread worldwide, even between arab countries and middle east countries. For example when you hear saudi guy flaming kuwaiti guy, or Kuwaiti flaming qatar, and so on.

It depends on the person himself, not the country, So please don’t say Kuwait is one of the most racist countries.

I’m sorry but its hard to take what he has to say seriously when he is talking like ‘bi6ee7 nussa’. Which is a pity because it seems like he has a really good & important point.

This guy speaks the truth.

Kuwait is one big spoiled country. Had it not been for the massive surge of revenue generated through the miraculous discovery of oil, our country and it’s citizens would have been more accepting to the harsh reality of life. We’d have to adapt to the changing world, and not live in our own little bubble.

Instead, we got a bunch ignorant lazy snobs. They are too self absorbed, and are naive enough to not consider any damages they inflict onto people that are not part of them.

I mean, look at this:
A guy/girl parks their car in front of a corner store and honk ridiculously to get the man behind the counter to come out rushing to serve them… I tell this scenario to any of my fellow American friends, they laugh and sigh at the same time.

To analyze the above situation, is the person honking that lazy to get out of his/her car? does he/she think they are more superior than the man making an honest living at the store?

I do realize I’m ranting at this point, but the idea should remain the same:

He has a valid argument, but that goes out the window once you consider his presentation style. He lacks a strong foundation in either language, and so needs to resort to both languages to make a claim, and even then it becomes difficult for him to express his ideas. I think this type of speech is becoming more and more common in Kuwait, and it worries me. Reading more books in either languages will take care of that fairly quickly though.

As far as some of the comments I’ve seen, some people have attempted to justify the racism in Kuwait or downright deny it, someone here also said that the country isn’t to blame and that the individual is at fault. I think the first two positions are ridiculous. It’s true that an individual is responsible for being racist, but it’s the individual that makes the country.

Another guy also tried to pin the speaker’s attitude and behavior on being raised by maids. “tarbiyat 5adam,,,, fashalna wala…” lolwut?

A comma cannot be used as a replacement for periods, the laws of English punctuation just don’t work that way. You cannot create a long pause by stringing up a few commas together(Internet Grammar Police).

As for the attack on his demeanor, being raised by maids simply has nothing to do with it. Assuming it’s true, if anything, being raised by maids gave him the insight he needed to come to his conclusions. And if you’re my age, I’m willing to bet a maid spent more time with you than your parents did when you were an infant.

I don’t blame the maids, I blame the parents. I blame the parents for being too busy to take an interest in the growth of their own child. I blame the parents for enforcing the flawed ideals of a dying age.I blame the parents for instilling in their children a sense of entitlement that just makes the whole racism situation worse.

I’ll be the first to say that his presentation was lacking, and his delivery was mediocre, but look beyond that and you’ll see that he deals with a very serious issue that hinders the growth of Kuwait. I don’t see how anyone can disagree with what he has to say.

Fact:
Kuwait is not a racist country. IN FACT, there is no such thing as a “racist country”. If a country is a “racist country” then it would not be a member of the United Nations because it would violate the core beliefs of the UN Charter.

Ugly truth:
Yes, racism does exist in this day and age and not just in Kuwait. Racism are individualistic acts and therefore one cannot label the actions of a few on an entire country or people. If we do that then it will be assumed OK to state that all muslims are terrorists based on the actions of a few.

Bottom line:
To say that an entire country is “racist” is simply asinine.

I can’t call this self criticism (providing this guy is Q8i). cuz (IF WHAT HE CLAIMS IS TRUE), then I could say this: After I lived in America for many years, I could say that Americans are “gay”, and “child molesters”. And after visiting Egypt , I could say that Egyptians are “cheaters” and “pocket pickers”.and after dealing with many Lebanese, I could say that Lebanese people are “bounty hunters”. And last but not least, after Iraqi invasion, I could say that Iraqis are “back stabbers” (I admit claiming that myself sometimes).
I myself faced reality after studying in USA, that Q8, (as a government and general population), has many things to improve.One major thing is the attitude towards foreigners. But then, so does other countries.
So,In a nutshell, I say to the guy in the video,I assume that you are a Q8i and have a big family here, so ,I DARE YOU,to marry,have children, and live in America.And then I want to see what kind of video you make about Americans.

if one or two make it to the news paper does that mean all the Kuwaitis are the same ? maybe he is or his mother are not so good with the maid .

As a Kuwaiti who lived in the States half my life, I think he’s got a strong point. And a lot of you attacking him or trying to contradict him are missing the point. Just because he’s making a video about racism in Kuwait doesn’t mean he has to go on and on pointing out flaws in every country around the world, including the U.S. where he’s living (I had a big argument with a friend the other day about this; just because you criticize one thing doesn’t mean your condoning another). And attacking him for the way he talks is just silly. Who cares?

I noticed when I came back to Kuwait in ’92 that whenever you have an issue with someone here (disagreement or frustration), the very 1st thing that’s attacked is nationality or national standing (within Kuwait). Of course, if the guy is also a 1st-class Kuwaiti, you’ll DEFINITELY find something else to attack: his job, his family, etc.

He’s mixing up racism and ethnicity. The hate towards the house maid by some people isn’t race related. It’s simply power on the weak, regardless of what race or country the maid is from. We do have an ethnicity problem in Kuwait of course. It’s not racism.

Well it really surprises me when someone compares kuwait’s racism with other countries.I am a pakistani born in kuwait and my mother too. My mom turned 50 last year. I asked her once about what does she think has changed in terms of racism in kuwait all these years, she answered it is same as it was when she was a kid in kuwait.I mean i have experienced this all my life every single day whenever i had to deal with a citizen her whether it be police station , airport, ministry or even gas station. No matter how hard i am trying to settle down in australia i still miss kuwait not the locals

It was really hard dodging his accent, holding my breath, and taking his words into consideration, ‘got his swagger on’ he did forget that most are racists towards tribes, meaning Kuwaiti’s are even racists against other Kuwaiti’s.

There’s a very clear line drawn between ethnicities in the GCC. To deny it is outrageous. However, this ‘line’ doesn’t necessarily mean racism… it’s the way people are treated which indicates that.

I was raised in the South (Texas to be exact), and my close group of friends (like many other groups of friends in the States) consisted of:

a white American guy who was a waiter, a Salvadorean/Spanish girl who is a secretary, a Palestinian guy who is an entrepreneur/software developer, a Nicaraguan girl who is a Doctor, a half African American/half Indian guy who is an engineer, and a guy from Togo who was a bellman at a hotel, so what’s your point??

A waiter, a secretary, a doctor, an engineer, and a bellman. I don’t believe I’ve EVER seen such a group of friends with diverse jobs/ethnicities such as this here in Kuwait. I don’t recall a Kuwaiti ever being BFF with, let’s say, a housemaid, a waiter from Chilis, or a worker from a shawarma stand… People here are too spoiled and too concerned about what ethnicity you are, what your family’s name is, etc (how people TALK), appearances, and all that meaningless crap that shouldn’t matter within friendships.

Please, the South would welcome you, or anyone for that matter, with open arms more than Kuwait ever will– no matter what race, gender, or sexual orientation you may be…

Seriously guys, every time something happens everybody is quick to defend the situation by saying "don't judge a country by 1 person" …. that is not the case as it's a LOT MORE THAN 1 PERSON! the society as a whole reflects the country. I have a mexican teacher who had troubles at the airport because halfway through the process they could not complete his application form because they thought he was british at first. To him this means either the country is racist or the laws are flawed, and both are not good options to go by! He doesn't care what you,your wonderful family and everyone you know that is nice … all he knows is that he was not treated as well or treated badly because of his race, and that is what reflects on society.

People are not supposed to tell you "GOOD JOB!" when you say please to your maid, but they will sure as hell tell you off if you treat them bad. The country should address this issue ….. too much e-go to admit there is racism on a wide scale and just pretend that its a few incidents here and there. or they do make laws of some sort, if you have was9a your golden, if you dont …. tough luck. And was9a is often looked at as a kuwaiti thing, its not, lots of people has was9a.

I must say that he is probably THE first Kuwaiti I have met that does not try in the slightest to make an excuse – but admits there is a problem and that it makes him angry and sad. as a foreigner i can say i resonate with what he is saying. People attacking the way he talks are just proof of the point he is making. They dont know that even though there is a lot of racism in other countries it is STILL more in Kuwait. Its in the way we think – its in the way even the people on the bottom of the food chain think here. Even a lot of comments on this board just show that minds are stuck and wont change unless we want them to change.

in USA, UK and other countries racism is very very less as compared to how it is in Kuwait and Saudia. Its a Shame that the people of Kuwait call themselves muslims and treat many foriegners with so much racism, disrespect and at the same time commit unislamic practices of all kinds .

Especially the Labourers and maids from whom they suck their blood to the last and still it doesnt satisfy them!!!They do this by not giving their Salaries for 3-4 months , physical,sexual abuse,beatings(breaking their bones many times) and also many times food deprevation..all these have been exposed by the media and human rights internation which the Kuwaitis so eagerly block it from the News. many times they cut their Salary from the Flight ticket when they are deported back to their home country. All this never happens with Expatriates who keep maids in their houses too, they are treated well and equal,salaries paid on time and many times the Expats even give them money back home for emergencies.In my many years in Kuwait i have never heard of single incident where Expats have abused their maids , but regarding kuwaitis its an everyday story.This is the level of Moral Depravity they have gone into and incur Allah’s wrath upon themselves.

Look at the young kuwaiti Children , throwing stones at vehicles of foriegners , behaving absolutely like Animals in front of them.
Even if some people have racist feelings in those western countries they behave like Cultured , civilized people and do not do Zulum(oppression) on the weak and poor people. even in rare cases when racist attacks happen in western nations , the offender is given a harsh punishment ,unlike in kuwait where the kuwaiti is above the law .
Curse of Allah be upon the Zalimun(oppressors) and Racists. The oppressors and racists will not only be punished in the hereafter, but also in this world.
There is a Hadith where the Prophet SAWS says anyone with an inch of pride will not enter the heaven . So imagine these Racist kuwaitis , what will happen of them …not just for their racist behaviour but also the oppression and crimes they commit against the Poor and helpless labourers and maids.Curse of Allah be on them !!

And by the way the many of these Racist Kuwaitis think they have oil and lot wealth and that makes them superior and treat outsiders like slaves. when the oil is over(in 50-60 years) , what the hell will you do ? You cannot even run your own Oil refeneries, and you need outsiders to run your country. You have no agriculture, no Technology, No innovation, No exports(other than oil) ,No independent service sector ….you will have no option but to go back to your old days of pearl diving …and perhaps you may need to work in India, pakistan and Egypt which you used to more than 100 years back.
look at the other nations in this world China,Brazil,Iran and India …they are the future of tomorrow.And they will be the biggest economies in 15 years time. Anyways , i have left kuwait some years back …and i have a great life in Canada where i even got a citizenship and am being treated with so much respect from the local people here .Kuwait is a sick place like a Cage with no rights and freedom. Am so glad to have left this place.My advice to others is if you wish to live a life of freedom,justice and see humanity go to Canada, UK or other countries like that.Dont rot yourself in places like kuwait which calls itself Islamic but on the reality is Hypocritical.

let the kuwaitis say whatever they want to defend the statement Racism exists everywhere. But they forget the fact that Racism in Kuwait is of a very brutal nature compared to Western nations.
What happens in Kuwait is not only Racism but also Slavery when it comes to Labourers and Maids.
In western Nations whenever a racist attack happens against an individual, there is a harsh punishment. But in Kuwait the Kuwaiti is never accountable , and there is no law in Kuwait which protects Expats from Racist attacks and behaviour.
Morover the percentage of Racism in Kuwait is 100 fold more than it is in western nations. Even if people in western nations dont like foriegners , they dont behave like the Kuwaiti animals like how it happens here in Kuwait.

I ask the arrogant Ahmad and also other kuwaitis in post the following :
1.Are people who work in contruction,cleaning companies and low skilled jobs in USA,UK etc ever treated like Slaves especially if they are foriegners?
2.Are they not paid wages for months(which happens in Kuwait so frequently with labourers)????
3.Are their Passports taken away by their employees??
4.Are they booked by criminal offense for changing their Company ??

5.Are they Paid a mere 100 Dollars a month ?? thats not even enough for themselves,let alone to send for their families. The kuwaitis themselves have not faced this hardship and slavery,hence they least bothered to do anything about it and prefer to act as if everything is normal.

6. Do people in Western nations break the Que in ATM’s,Banks, Traffic Dept etc.(which is very common in kuwaitis in Kuwait)

you all know the answer is no for all the questions, but on the other hand you pretend that racism in Kuwait is just like how it is in other countries…this is Big hyprocisy …you Kuwaitis are not only Morally depraved , but also big Hypocrites.

And the maids are treated absolutely like Slaves, their passports confiscated, The govt. has no laws to protect them.They get Beaten up badly, abused Physically and sexually ,Threatened . There are thousands of Cases where maids run away from their employers/kafeel to the Embassies to escape their oppression/zulm.
Wallahi this oppression will be accounted by Allah in this world, and in the hereafter The Punishment is GREAT. These oppressors think that they have a lot of wealth, but this wealth will neither protect them from the Curse of Allah SWT NOR the punishment of the hereafter.Let them live with Arrogance,pride and Zulm…but this life will end soon and they will be in Horror in the next life.

The Prophet SAWS said anyone who has even an inch of Pride will not enter heaven . Imagine what will happen to these Racist Kuwaitis , they are not only racist but also Oppressors !! All their good Deeds will go in vain because of oppression they commit on the helpless and Poor people.For an Oppressor will not escape the Punishment of Allah SWT.
Arabs have such a beautiful History and Culture. But these Kuwaitis,Saudis and some GCC states are an Insult and Shame to the Arab Nation.
Just look at the Other Arab Nations like Jordan,lebanon,Syria and egypt …how nice and politely they treat Foriegners irrespective of their colour,race or language. These are the real arabs and not the Hypocrites like in Kuwait.

Wallahi the punishment of Allah is great , but most understand not.
Note: This is only addressed to the Racist Kuwaitis . there are many Excellent civilized Kuwaitis and i pray that Allah bless them and reward them in this world and the hereafter just like any Good Muslim of other nationality. But most Kuwaitis/ majority are Racists..so for them Allah will handle them.

they get their pay checks every month
