CNN have an article on how land that was used during the 1990 invasion as an important base for Saddam Hussein’s army has now flourished into the beautiful landscape you see in the picture above. No, unless you are a s****h. We tried visiting the reserve last winter, but we were turned back by the guards. It’s a very beautiful place, or so I heard…

these one is an old photo ,,, the reserve hasn’t been like that for few years now cause of the lack of rain ,, but when it rains ,, YES it gets to be almost all purple full of lavender !
N19: It is not open to the public, but access is available to members of certain organizations and groups concerned with nature and the environment.
Printed gate passes are needed which are issued quarterly via these groups.
It is a truly beautiful place and not a Coke can in sight!

Imagine the trash if they let everyone in…it would be a reserve for trash!
I believe the reason of closing it in the public face is the public themselves, otherwise we will see all the diversity of Kuwait citizens are there having there barbecue day and littering every where leaving the place as if it was snowing garbage .

I am from Russia and go hiking. here I went through all the rock formations and the seashore. What I see is terrifying! Everything is littered with garbage! Their grandchildren with tears in their eyes will collect this garbage with their hands and curse them.
I was invited there when it first opened to hunt birds by someone who shall remain nameless. We were to get there by helicopter. I don’t hunt and the idea repulsed me. I hope that it is purely a reserve and that no one (and I mean no one) is allowed to hunt there.

I hope it doesn’t open to the public. Look at the mess in Mutla now. Last time I went there hoping to observe a desert monitor lizard and all I found was bottles of whiskey and BBQ remains.
You mean empty bottles of whiskey surely. Otherwise all traffic in Kuwait would be there and it would be the perfect place for one of those zombie move scenes where a mob of zombies is chasing the one non-zombie.

Yes it is still closed, it has been like that for many years ago. And not because of the lockdown we are facing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
