Staples in my shirts

5àSec

This is the second time I pick up my laundry from 5àSec only to find tags stapled into my shirts and tshirts! The first time I spotted the stapled tag in my tshirt it pissed me off but I was like maybe it was just this once and I let it go. Yesterday though I found two staples with a tag in one of my nice shirts and now I am really pissed. I am guessing they staple these tags to keep track of the items but come on there must be a better solution. When you staple clothes you are basically punching holes in them and ruining them so I don’t know why people are allowing them to do that. Personally I am no longer going to use them ever again.

I was a fan, but I totally stopped using their service when they ruined my jersey! The numbers front and back are now shiny (burnt from dryer). I wasn’t in Kuwait at the time so when I saw it after my trip they told me they changed their staff and can’t do anything about it!!!!! I am still upset about it.

All Luandry companies do that they ruin evry thing… but they staple the tags with ur name on it so they know who ths belongs to… but the company i use staple it on the tag from the inside on the right ( u know where theres a tag sticking out with the size and material and stuff) they staple it there.

😉 ;p

They do that in many places! You have to ask them NOT to staple your clothes! I’ve been going to this lundrey for the past few years and now he never staple my clothes, especially after yelling at him for reuining one of my silk dresses!

I would have thought they would be using something better than just a stapler. My local place (which is not a franchise) uses strong printed stickers with codes, most places use that kind of system.

The place in Surra irons on a temp sticky piece of, what seems to be, plastic, it comes of very easily and causes no damage.

I don’t like taking my shailat to the dry-cleaners- the ones with the sensitive fabric especially- because of those staples.. the only items of clothing I send are the ones that still have their tags on the inside (washing instructions and all that).. makes taking out the staples even easier..

mishref: what does my ego have to do with my shirts getting holes in them? RFID would be cool though

RaZ that sounds like something 5asec should be using!

Armani: Some of my shirts don’t have the size/washing instructions tags

My laundry does a ‘combo’! For suits and heavy duty stuff, they staple – on the inside pocket, so no problem there. For shirts and lighter stuff, they have a little sticker which comes off easily and doesn’t leave a mark. In any case, they put it on the label.

You dont let things that bother you just go assuming they know how you feel. Just tell them not to do so, they may find a way or another to staple it in the tag of your shirt or something

It’s annoying but i thought all dry cleaners do this. i hate it when they try to mix up the places and i discover the tag a week later after it digs into my side .

Walla thank you Mark.. I’m so pissed at damn 5asec.. and was waiting for someone to say something about it.. i got stapled twice with those damn staples that they use.. and on top of that they iron like shit.. and the 15th branch that they are so proud of.. and did a whole advrt. camp. for it.. is in salmiya next to my place.. it is basically some sort of a forward branch.. they need 3 days to do your shirts.. unlike any other branch because they have to send it to other branch to dry clean it.. basically the branch is useless.. I mean why the hell do you open a branch if a machine does not fit in it.. just to say that you now have 15 locations.. by the way i am referring to the one before dodo facing feiruz express.. I have stopped using them for good.. and I’m now a happier person.. lol.. 😉

thats the one I am using because its near my house. My first staple incident happened at the other 5asec the one behind alghanim before it closed down and now the second staple incident at this branch before dodo.

there’s a good laundry in salmiya behind fanar, instead of using staplers they put a small sticker on your laundry (from the inside), and they are easy to take off, while your name is printed on it with a customer number, they charge a alot though and their service is amazing. run by an old philippina.

I had 2 linen tops ruined by them.. stopped going! Now for delicate pcs I dry clean at home, and iron at cleaners… buy the dry clean can! you’ll thank me for this!!
plus if you have a good laundry machine you can cool air tumble dry using the drier shelf.. so you can just do it all at home !!

Hi Samer, the only problem i have is the fact that you are stapling my shirts. I don’t like having holes in my shirts and I dont think anyone else does. You just need to find another solution like some of the other laundromats who as mentioned above use stickers.

In the States, they staple them to the clothing tags only, so as not to ruin the fabric. The problem is with most employee training in the area, the instructors assume that people have basic common sense. When they say, “Staple the tag in the shirt.” they don’t mean, “Staple the tag into the fabric area where the holes will be most visible to people.”

A mystery I was never able to solve or understand. Taking my clothes for dry cleaning means I care much about them and am welling to pay to keep them in nice condition. So stapling them just to label is really stupid. When ever I have to take clothes there, we tell them to staple it from inside on the T-Shirt tag not the shirt itself.
