What’s the purpose of these new plants pots that are being placed on the Gulf Road? If anything these cement blocks are actually blocking the greenery behind them instead of making the Gulf Road any greener.

Are people driving on the sidewalk?
Yes they are driving on the sidewalk, I have encountered several during rush hour
I know I have also seen these on areas off of Baghdad Street. The same plants are placed in areas that people were parking at, near Bread Talk and Phuket Thai Rest, there is always alot of congestion there. I doubt it will solve any problems.
i highly doubt these are meant to stop people parking on the sidewalk since the picture above was taken on the gulf road on a sidewalk where i’ve never seen anyone park on plus there is enough space between each spot for 2 cars to park comfortably.
They are there to stop people from driving on the side walk… which as u know happens frequently.
they’re not. They’re also being placed in the middle sidewalk in salmiya near sultan center. Someone actually thinks these pots are beautiful…
Probably the same person who repaved the city just to find out the piping was not complete and had to remove the stone to lay the pipes and repave, just to remove the stone again because wiring was not done 😉 (using Almuthana complex as an example here)
Just to clarify, the complex has nothing to do with the beautification job around its premises.

Four people from the Municipality are benefiting from this tender, laughing hysterically all the way to the bank.
This is so sad. I’d understand it if it was a usual “Bo Flaan has 10 containers of this shit lets sell it to the municipality” but if it is actually used to stop people from parking or driving on the sidewalk.. that makes more upset. Seeing how they go out of their way just to treat the symptoms, not the cause.

This is nothing. I live in Mahboula, and nobody gives a shit because it is an expat area. The contractor (some company called Mushrif) seems to have idiots on its payroll. They dug up the road, put a pipe, closed it, compacted it and then paved it. Then they realised they missed something, and redid the whole thing, THEN, they missed something again and redid it AGAIN.

Why do have a problem with everything and anything on this world? I mean just keep few things as is. Don’t have to put your leg on everything. They are not even blocking any scenery as they are quite small pots.
Actually it is to stop people from going up on the pavement. same as those weird concrete balls they sometimes put on the pavements. its stupid.
