The Future is Ours

The Kuwait Investment Forum (KIF2018) took place last week and on that occasion, they released the promo video above which showcases Kuwait while also containing information on the different upcoming projects and investment opportunities that are available. Looks like its full speed ahead for Kuwait 2035. [YouTube]

What are the upcoming projects in the video?I Only could notice the NBK building and a highlight of an empty plot of land (I’m assuming its the sheikha hessa project) Otherwise it’s just shots of already completed projects and people working and about 30 seconds of the old guy working on the wooden ship “and looking to the past”. Not very 2035 if you ask me.

the empty plot of land if im not mistaken is the mishref palace,

please let the land be affordable there so i can settle and not make it starting 200-300 k (which is what it seems atm)

that area is super strategic and next to bayan blk 13 mishref and west mishref, in addition to south surra,

which also brings to mind the traffic of all of those on a joint traffic light..

“We must be able to form deeper and better connections with other human beings..”

Hope this statement is remembered and has actions following it.

Overall, great video.. Kuwait has a ton of potential, its just up to everyone to tap into it and make it the place that I, and so many others, sees it to be.

The same government that made this lovely forward looking video issued a directive instructing Ministry of Awqaf preachers last Friday to call women not wearing hijab sinners, kafer, degenerates and all sorts of lovely adjectives. #Schizophrenia

The article you linked does not really correlate with what you claim though. Per the article, the subject of that sermon was atheism, not the hijab.

Nevermind the article, that’s the ministry’s response. Look at the sign the protester is holding. In it there is a direct quote from the sermon about “sufour” (which is not wearing hijab) and relating that to decadence, sin and imitating Kufar (non believers, atheists.. etc.). There is video of the incident in today’s Alqabas with the woman explaining her protest and there’s a trending # on twitter #السفور_ليس_انحلال_اخلاقي

First and foremost it is the culture that needs to change if Kuwait wants to truly become a modern country. Fancy buildings don’t mean anything when you are culturally bankrupt.

I didn’t say all here, did I? Strawman much? If you don’t think the rampant sexism and racism doesn’t make Kuwait culturally bankrupt I’m not sure what to tell you.

When open discrimination based on sex, religion, race, nationality are at the forefront of how the country functions, you can say Kuwait is culturally bankrupt.

And don’t forget our amazing theater and television loved by all gulf countries, and almost exclusively based on stereotyping

I just hope that they will keep the corruption on the low end, I’d be content :))
Just don’t milk the cow dry thanks.

This video is sad. The future is very gloomy. Breaking the Peggy Bank and distributing among the few is by no mean investment in the future.

The foremost vision document should be, “A how to guide on parenting without the maid”

And you take it from there to build this nation…

I have a question for you people. Are you depressed or just enjoy spreading depression on to people?

Frankly, amazed at the naviety of running and building a nation when the coffers are not overflowing with gifted prosperity of black gold…

These are all pretty valid arguments though.. We can’t keep sweeping things under the rug just because we don’t like how it sounds. If things get ignored then no change can happen.

Do u people think before posting or do u simply want to rant about random shit? This is a completely different subject to what ever it is you are talking about, ffs it’s this kinda shitty attitude that gives radicals like safaa al Hashem power and tbh maybe she has a point.

Random? Really? An argument regarding the welfare of people in a country on a post about a video regarding the prospective economic opportunities to improve the welfare of people in that country is random?? Please explain.

Everything is connected. If you don’t see then you don’t understand economics.

“tbh maybe she has a point”

This right there makes whatever you said, trying to say, will ever say absolute garbage.
