I was checking twitter when I noticed Sheikh Majed had posted a link to an article in Wallpaper magazine of a beautifully designed house in Kuwait called the “Secret House”. You really need to check out the pictures it looks amazing. [Link]

are u sure? I think its in shuwaikh.. though that one doesnt look nice from outside but sure look much like this one.

someone already said that the article mentioned the house being in Shuwaikh. Plus if you’re too lazy to read like me.. you can see from the pictures on the article a view of Kuwait city, you can’t get this view from tha7ya ;p

This one is in Shwaikh, on the main road (Share3 Alsalam). There are many houses in Kuwait now which has similar designs. The two architects are talented but i see them repetitive most of the time. This design i have seen at a house very similar to it.

In the article it says the house is in Shuwaikh.

I don’t think that’s smoke, i believe it’s the sprinklers but because of the shutter speed on the camera the water might looks like a fog or smokey.

Mashallah very nice house!

ok then.. this is the one near the shuwaikh co-op. though here it looks really nice, that house look from the outside like a warehouse ;p

Think it’s quite horrible really.

Much prefer arabian architecture. Either old syrian, gulf, or moroccan houses sing to my heart. This means nothing to me.

But to each their own.

I actually agree with you 100%

I like old Syrian with a fountain in middle house garden/terrace. Not to mention the old jigsawed Damascus blocks of black, sand and white. To compliment that, have some arabesque furniture around.

I think I said too much. Sorry :>

it’s understandable really, if everyone had good taste then life would be boring and houses like this wouldn’t stand out among the tacky “arabian” style ones 🙂

it’s understandable really, if everyone had good manners and was respectful of other’s opinions then we’d be living in paradise and you wouldn’t be there. But you’re here, and we’re on this flawed civilization/society for it. 🙂

Nothing like the 300+ houses of old city of Jerusalem…. Man that was something from another world…….. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

now this is a house / owner who’s up with the times .. enough with these over the top arabesque / gawdy looking box houses .. they have no character and make me wanna puke .. c’mon ppl … put ur money to good use … and stop employing all these run of the mill contractors that have no skill and architects with no taste … mabrook to the Owners of the not-so-secret house

It looks like a giant version of IKEA’s mock up bedrooms on display. It’s a nice house but I’d imagine how troublesome it’s going to be to keep it clean with all the random whether and dust storms that we get here.

Honestly there are too many angles and not the sort of house I would want, its too cold for my liking.

An excellent design and well done for those who like this sort of work, but sometimes going too modern feels a little too cold for my liking.

Problem with these perky homes is they get out of fashion way too quickly, probably by the time your kids are teens. And by the time they have their kids, its back in fashion, so its a great design but is not eternal. Its a smart home in sync. with the times but not beautiful to me. However, the furnishing looks promising. This home is an artistic architectural masterpiece for this decade only.

Some people really take what they see on the costal Bravia Spain home magazines where the clean cool breeze of the mediterranean and copy these open contemporary homes in Kuwait !

It’s nice and I love modern houses, but the only happy element with these waste open outdoor spaces is Dust…. I mean layers of Thick Dust and need to be cleaned twice a day !

But other than that I LOVE the Dewania and the swimming pool .

Mashallah nice house, but I agree with the others that cleaning it up after a dust storm would be a pain. And yeah, its true that such houses would get quickly out of fashion too compared to the ‘box’ type houses which somebody pointed out above 😉

Why everyone is concerned about cleaning out dust. I’m sure that someone who’s able to afford such a beautiful house would be able to afford proper staff for clean-up.

Yabila secret house!!!

I would run around it neked all day and night (with the lights on) without a care in the world (but that’s just me).

I love the design, but then I love contemporary. So what if it will go out of style; change it when it does.

Finally, someone with TASTE who doesn’t want to live in a square cement box with teeny tiny windows and zero landscaping!
