A reader took the picture of the highway digital sign delivering a warning message and diverting traffic to the appropriate lane. According to him the signs got updated before the police arrived which means the sign was activated with the appropriate message from someone at the control center monitoring the road via highway cameras. If I still want to pick on the signs I would say they should have been twice as wide so that the font size would be much larger making it easier to read from a distance. Nevertheless it’s good to see these signs in action and not just telling time.
Thanks Mohammad

I think its great that the digital signs actually work and that there accurate ! I’m really proud of that ! They should keep on doing more digital signs for the roads !!
I think a better idea is to have on sign in only Arabic, and a sign next to it in only English. That way we don’t have to keep staring at the signs waiting for them to change into the other language.
Good stuff, also font has to be at least 2x larger.
I think Arrows are enough to understand

Typo
time, and it tells you that there is dust.. in case you didn’t notice lol
Oh finally they started to use them 🙂
instead of 3edkom Mubarak 🙂
It’s great that they started using the signs. It would be equally great if people actually started following them.
I always had in mind. In what way is useful. Now i got the idea.
Even though it directs people where to go but who listens?? I mean look at the lane I’m sure nobody will move or switch lane until they HAVE to
It’s still a poor system with only one digital sign in one particular street, what if an accident happend somewhere near the sign?
in europe they have it installed repeatedly in certain defined distance, that would be the right way of implementing this system.
the above sign will cause more traffic as right lane cars will try to squeeze in the left lanes causing traffic jam
the main cause of traffic jam everywhere is cars moving from one lane to another.
ppl don’t have patience, dump!
that doesn’t make any sense. There is a car broken down on the right lane so in any case the right lane has to shift into another lane. What this sign does is allow people to start shifting lanes ahead of time to decrease the chance of a gridlock
They are also (finally) setting these up on Gulf Road.
Once it was written : “You shouldn’t be looking here” (not the exact sentence, but that’s what I remember)
