I just found out Tory Burch is coming to Kuwait and the rest of the region courtesy of the Chalhoub Group. They’re opening their first branch at Dubai Mall this year and a branch in Kuwait next year. [Link]

No way for this chain to open in Saudi Arabia 😉
Globalization at its best!
This brand is not a popular in the Middle-East. It is currently being sold in department stores in Dubai. Also, Coast would not do well in the Middle-East in comparison with other named brands such as Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. One of the smartest additions to the Kuwait market will be the new wing at Avenues which will carry these brands and take them out of the guetto of the Salhiya Complex in Kuwait City.
Well they’re sold in department stores in the States as well. I know in our region they’re being sold at Aishti and I think I spotted them at Bloomingdale’s in Dubai as well.
Not sure why you think Salhiya Complex is the ghetto though. It’s come a long way from the dark gloomy interior of the 80s and I think is a great luxury mall right now. But, it’s small and I’m sure some brands like LV would rather have a much larger store which is what’s they’re planning to do at Avenues.
Tory Burch is very popular in the States, as well as, Coach. I heard they were opening in Dubai also. But, they don’t sell well in the Middle-East market. But they can give it a go, like many franchises who are cashing in on the GCC cashflow. Don’t do Kuwait City at all, and I find the government’s neglect in overhauling the city as a travesty, after all it is the capitol. What is also ashame is that the road developers around the Avenues have provided poor support the mall project with easy access to adjacent freeways and must have encouraged the mall’s entrance to be at the bottom of a freeway offramp which must cause alot of accidents. Governments should support businesses by proper road development and signage to encourage safety in the flow of traffic. I think new road development firms should be brought into the country to better plan the country, the current companies should be fired along with the landscape architects.
+1 i totally agree. I must also add the entrance to 360 mall is even worse. You can easily miss it and its a merging point with ppl coming from your right and on to the highway while u r trying to go right into the entrance.
uhmm..there is a newly open mall in shark its AL HAMRA luxery mall..its better to place tory burch where you can find HERMES store,BOTTEGA,XVESLAURRENT,SHOEBOX NEW YORK.can’t wait to visit tory burch store in kuwait.
