I’m heading back to Kuwait in a couple of days and it looks like I missed out on a bit of drama while I was away. Shaab Park, Sultan Center Shaab, the football fields and everything else in that block have been closed down and cordoned off by a fence. Whats going on? Sultan Center Shaab was my goto supermarket so I can’t imagine not having it there anymore.

Seems the park has been repossessed by TEC.
I read in Alrai newspaper that the land is rented by the businesses on it. The land is owned by Touristic Enterprises Company and they got a court evacuation order served to the businesses.
Came back from vacation this morning, no food in the house so wandered the short walk to find the above signs! So this afternoon I ventured into using their online service and I have to say I was impressed.
I always order online from TSC. It’s pretty good. Obviously, it doesn’t have EVERYTHING that’s at Sultan Center but it’s a great service and they’re always on time with delivery (sometimes they are early and call you to let you know hehe)
YOU KNOW WHAT?? DINNER… ITS ON ME
I heard that shaab park will be rebuilt
Could this mean Legoland could be coming to Kuwait?
No it means pink unicorns will be flying over rainbows originating at Shaab Park
it was BOT , and the contract has expired.
Now , the government will build new Culture Center in this land
Cultural Center is already built and nearly done right next door
Now they are building on the left.
where did you get that info from? I highly doubt thats true, I am not aware of any plans for a second cultural center in Shaab, the one they’ve built now is already one of the largest in the world…

read again
Read what again? I asked you where YOU got that info from and that I doubt its true because they’re not gonna build two cultural centers next to each other.
there’s a rumor floating around that the area will be converted to a car park for the cultural center
It’s owned by TEC. And they won legal battle with the leaser CMCC to get it back, along with shaab park. Everything will open again once TEC lease the plot again to whoever win the bid.
i can confirm that it is a court evac sentence being served.
the contract ended back in 2012 and they all remained, something along these lines.
Heard from TSC staff that they will reopen on Sunday. Not sure how accurate this info is, but will keep my fingers crossed!
