Young men flee ‘tiger attack’ in Salmiya

Investigations are currently ongoing in a case in which a group of friends claim that an enemy they were preparing to fight against almost released a large tiger at them. The alleged incident reportedly took place on Al-Blajat street in Salmiya where the 12 young men approached someone they had unfinished business with, and decided to settle their differences the old fashioned way.

Soon enough, the enemy was joined by a friend, who reportedly had an adult tiger sitting in the backseat of his car. The group opted to flee when the tiger’s owner threatened to release the wild beast at them. They reported the incident at Rumaithiya police station immediately afterwards. Investigators are working to confirm the allegations before further action is taken.

LOL–kids over here need to be disciplined!! Kids fighting in groups with tigers and at times knives etc is sad.

hahah..Must be the same guy I saw a couple of weeks ago. He had a Tiger, yes a Tiger, in the back of his Humvee. It was about the size of a large dog.

Just a thought a similar event took place in a true documentary on race car drivers. Perhaps the authorities should seek out Ricky Bobbie (talladega night) for questioning. I recall that is a common practice to enhance driver concentration, A cougar will also work.

Obvioulsy many ppl dont know how to differiate between different wild cats – its a cheetah and many people have cheeaths as pets – in south africa you can own a cheetah if you have a minimum backyard space in your house. cheetahs have been pets since the times of the anciet egyptians and have been used by the arabs for hunting till the 1920’s, becuase cheetahs are the only wild cats that will bring the prey to the owner without eating it and the only wild cat that can learn up to 8 voice commands

Hey Nicole, I’m an educated liberal “local.” If you want to be racist, I’m sure you don’t have to be here. I don’t know where you’re from, but I can’t imagine people in the States or Europe accepting expats vilifying their country. Criticize all you want, that’s freedom of speech. But hate it? Why stay?

So you are saying we can make unproductive emotional statements when something bothers us be referring to you when in a foriegn country. Well, even if foreigners respected the ways we should reciprocate opinions from you explaining it’s not a bog deal, it’s not constructive by first generalizing.

So if you want your opinion to be taken as something valuable and not just an emotional rant then you should say what you mean, and have to explain that you care and there are sone good people. Since your question implies that there are enough crazies that there are no sane ones to be found, or everyone is crazy.

Of course providing helpful advice as a foreigner in a rational way would likely get ignored unless you generate the right kind if attention and that’s not by starting with a misunderstanding and labeling people to ostracize them from something constructive.

Just a shame that Kuwaitis have so little faith in their own educational system that they have to have foreign expats run their so called ‘quality’ schools. Fact is, almost all of these schools would be shut down in europe after a 5 minute inspection.

Who said i am criticizing kwt or its people. All I’m saying is that it’s sad westerners get paid way more than locals, for jobs locals can do. most of the money gets saved for when they got back home. They should get taxed on what they make.

Hiring expats for jobs that no local is qualified to do is by all means welcomed. But they have to also respect the place they are in.

I agree with you (even though many wouldn’t like it) on the Tax part and also on the ‘hiring’ locals wherever possible.

I think, especially many of the younger generation want to work and achieve something.

I think you misread my question about ‘sane people left’
I didn’t mean ‘left’ like in ‘they left the country’.
It was a valid question as in ‘are there any sane people still in this country’.
I did not imply that there are no sane people in Kuwait any more.

Nicole, I agree entirely with your opinions about the environment, about the absolute lack of concern for it here in Kuwait and the idiocy and immorality of keeping wild animal as pets. I too am a supporter of K’S PATH.

What I object to (and forgive me if I mistakenly threw into this category) are those people who use criticism of the insanity around us as a veil for their racism. I am openly critical of Kuwait and the U.S. but I love both countries. Anyways, there is insanity all over the world and it’s a daunting task to try to change that.
