For some unknown reason, Cinescape have increased the ticket prices of their IMAX movies. They increased the price from KD4 to KD5 while all the other ticket prices remained the same. I tried to find out why the increase happened but I was told a memo was sent out to Cinescape employees not to discuss it. Very odd.
Update: On a side note has anyone watched Rogue Nation, is anything cut?

i thought you’d give up going to the movies considering your experience with terminator genisys.
what i like to do before watching something in theaters here is to go to kids-in-mind.com. you’ve probably heard of it but if you haven’t, it’s basically a website that highlights (in detail, right down to bare thighs lmao) all the scenes that may be inappropriate for CHILDREN and they categorize the scenes under the following criteria: sex and nudity, violence and gore and profanity.
kinda gives me a gist of what to expect to be cut out of the movies and the more i think about it the more i realize how fucking sad that actually is.
no i like going to the movies, i just try to watch movies that aren’t butchered which clearly wasn’t the case with terminator
One other change, check the noon timing for Ant-man. Most of the convenient ones are VIP for some reason.

I’ve booked Ant Man 3D at Fanar for this weekend and the tickets were 3.5 KD a pop so no change there. I guess only Imax 3D viewers have to shell out more money

The reason is pretty obvious…the difference of 500 fils ended up in normal screens not doing great business on week days (except Monday). So they probably thought 1.500 KD difference may bring about some balance.
This makes zero sense.

PLEASE DO NOT DESTROY THE IMAX EXPERIENCE FOR US, GET IT BACK TO THE NORMAL TICKET RATES.

That’s insane. Here in manhattan, an Imax ticket is 15$, and that’s only like 4K.D! Plus, nothing is censored.
what I do is I check the duration on imdb. For example. Mission Impossible is 131 min on imdb and 129 on kncc.com. So 2 min are off. 118 min on kncc.com and imdb. So you are good to go.
The Kuwaiti Dinar lost almost 10% of its value against the US Dollar since last summer (from 0.275 to 0.303 today).

I’ve dislike 3d movies and go out of my way to avoid seeing them. Sometimes your forced to watch 3d movies, and thankfully, someone has already developed 2d glasses to convert the miserable 3d experience to a more pleasant 2d video 🙂

Yeah, the prices have hiked up for IMAX – For MI: Rogue Nation, I opted instead for AVENUES-DOLBY ATMOS.
My earlier experience at DOLBY ATMOS was quite pleasant (saw AVENGERS 2), and the sound system is dope.
Yes, certainly Dolby Atmos takes the cake! I really don’t prefer 3D unless the movie has been recorded in that format and not butchered.
