The embassy of the Republic of Korea are holding a ‘Korean Movie Night’ this coming Friday. It’s kinda perfect timing with the release of Oldboy in theaters which is a remake of probably one of the best Korean movies ever made also called Oldboy. Here are the details on the movies showing and their timings:

Korea has really good movies! Also the remake of Oldboy was received way worse than the original but no surprise I guess.
yeah i’ve been reading the reviews and generally everyone loved the original. I haven’t watched the remake and probably will only watch it once its out in the itunes store.
Wait for the directors cut, Spike Lee was forced to cut 40 minutes from the movie.
I dunno how that happened because impressions say it’s almost the exact same movie.
From the reviews I’ve been reading, they say the movie is pretty entertaining and good, some parts are better than the Korean version, other parts not so much. One of the negative aspects is that the third act feels rushed, Spike Lee wanted it to be longer but the movie studio didn’t agree, they (the studio) really fluffed this movie up in more aspects than one like the release date (Thanksgiving?) and the advertising (virtually nonexistent).
