hey Mark, check out @korblog on instagram.
They provide how many minutes a movie is censored which can be helpful to decide wether it’s worth watching or not!
it’s arabic which i can’t understand and its also on instagram which means there is no search feature. not practical to use.
Well here are the censorship durations for your “new this week” portion:
Genius: 4 minutes.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople: 2 minutes.
Mechanic Resurrection: 5 minutes.
Monkey King Hero Is Back: 7 minutes
War Dogs: 6 minutes.
Life on the Line: 2 minutes.
6 minutes censored from war dogs??? wtf
The movie’s official running time is 114 minutes, and on cinescape’s app its 109 minutes. I suppose they’re approximating.
*Approximating the censorship duration.
so your illiterate Mark
You’re.
Mercy
Merci*
Hey!Mark, do please also include Bollywood and Arabic film releases in that listing of yours to make it more complete.
Yes please! Even if u have zero interest in them lol
Yes please add Arabic movies or Bollywood. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) is the highest-grossing movie in Kuwaiti history, beating Titanic (1997)!
And why leave out the newest kid in the block, Sky cinemas?! Just askin’.
do they have anything the others don’t? i’m not even sure how many locations they have, is it just the 1 in salmiya?
Sky cinema has a nice location but other than that, they have nothing going for them. it’s relatively small, the popcorn is not that nice, and seats are average.
Hey!Mark, do NOT please also include Bollywood and Arabic film releases in that listing of yours to make it racist
it’s a joke
Hahaha well since I don’t watch Bollywood or Arabic films I’m not gonna add them to the list
I like to add the movie Don’t Breathe which is available exclusively at Grand Cinema. One of the best horrors to watch this year.
thanks, it wasn’t there in the morning just added it
Hey Mark!
Watched War Dogs in the cinema and they kept cutting it was so frustrating and ruined it for me so I suggest you don’t watch it here. I might even watch it again on the laptop
Back in the old days (up until mid and late 1990s) Friday was exclusively reserved for Bollywood films. In Kuwaiti terminology, Bollywood is a catch-all for all films produced in South Asia.
So what happened on Friday is the entire KTV2 Channel would show Bollywood films and the old-school cinemas screen the latest blockbusters.
I’d be stuck at home watching these films when all I wanted was cartoons and comedy shows and my family goes out to the cinemas to watch the latest adventure-romantic-thriller-whatever movie being shown at the time.
India has always been a major trading port for Kuwaitis, so much so that many merchant families speak various types of Hindi. Even our colloquial speech has a lot of Indian words (chub, bacha, pagel, etc.) Farsi also helped in that, bridging the two languages quite well.
How much is cut from “Don’t Breathe”? Sounds like a great film.
3 minutes
Is the Cine Club in Kuwait still alive and kicking? If yes, why have they pulled it off air on KTV-2? Miss Mr. Farouk Abdel Aziz a lot. It’s a shame there isn’t any commercial space dedicated to screening of art house cinema and film noir on a regular basis. I am pretty sure there is already a critical mass of people out there who appreciate world cinema and art so there won’t be any dearth of takers for that sorta thing.
