The first episode of The Penguin is out and it’s great, I’m hooked. Also the latest episode of Industry was amazing, the season just keeps on getting better and I don’t want it to end. I also realized I stopped season 2 of Lord of the Rings mid way through episode 2 and haven’t gone back to it yet. It was such a slow episode along with a slow episode 1 that I don’t think I have the patience for it.
Last night I started watching the second season of Monsters on Netflix, The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Only watched the first episode but I really like it. I remember the story when it was happening in real life back in the early 90s since I was in Canada and it was on the news and papers often back then. The first episode had a Milli Vanilli soundtrack which I loved since I was a huge fan back in the 90s.
Let me know in the comments what you recently watched or planning to watch.

Cant wait until Curry over Hollywood comments so i can educate him on films
Industy’s latest episode was explosive!
watched 2 episodes of Paris Has Fallen (2024) it was a surprise that there is a “Has Fallen” tv show. action packed.
AKA (2023) great action movie.
Citizen Kane (1941) really very great movie. I didn’t know old movies would be that good.
If you trawling for good old movies, I’d recommend:
– The Magnificent Seven (original)
– The Italian Job (original)
– Lawrence of Arabia
– The Third Man
Ummm Citizen Kane is considered one of the greatest films of all time. It’s as big as Gone With The Wind and The Wizard of Oz.
It’s the first thing they force you to watch in college if you major in Film Production like I did.
This week I didn’t learn from past experience and went to 1954 to watch Diamonds are Forever. A 120 minutes movie per wiki that started at 7.40pm after ads and was finished by 9.15pm! How you can cut 25 minutes and expect continuity I’ll never know.
I’m also after a day at the office, destressing watching Dubai Bling on Netflix… this lets me know any stresses and problems I have are relative.
You should have watched Basic Instinct at Cinema Salmiya when it came out, I still don’t know how they managed to get the film to be longer than 30 minutes and make it make any sense.
The Penguin S01E01 was pretty good, and I am interested in the rest of the series (this is gonna be a miniseries after all)
Agatha All Along S01E01&E02 were also good, but I liked ep2 more.
Gonna finish The Acolyte today, Ep5&6 were great.
I was also travelling recently so I managed to watch 3 movies, The Fall Guy (great stunts, average story and a bit longer than necessary), A Quiet Place: Day One (great for fans of Cloverfield, but I think this could’ve worked better as a miniseries, still enjoyed it tho, but it can be a bit intense if you’re not in the right mindset for it), Ocean’s Eight (a fun heist movie, but a bit cliché)
I also saw The Favor a few weeks back, it’s an early 90’s comedy that was released in the mid-90’s, and it’s kinda weird, but the dream sequences were entertaining.
