OSN Play for the iPad

I just found out from Jacqui that OSN have released an iPad App for their OSN Play service. OSN Play allows you to stream movies and tv shows on the go and now with the iPad App you’ll be able to stream the content onto your iPad wherever you are in the Middle East. It’s perfect timing with the olympics currently taking place.

But I can’t get the App to work for some odd reason. I logged into my account but whenever I try to stream anything I get the error “You’ve now registered the maximum number of devices for this account.” I have no idea what that means but I’m hoping its a technical issue from their side that will be worked out soon.

If you’re an OSN subscriber you automatically have free access to OSN Play and you can download the App from [Here]

Update: Turns out every time you log in to OSN Play from a different computer it adds that computer as a device. You can have maximum two devices which I already have which is why I couldn’t get OSN Play to work on the iPad. There is a workaround without having to remove an already added device. OSN Play allows you to have other members in the house create sub accounts so I just created a second account for myself and this should solve the problem.

How many digital devices can I register with OSN Play?

You can register up to two devices for OSN Play (PC or Mac.)
The first two devices you use to watch OSN Play will be automatically registered to your OSN account. You have the opportunity to add or remove one of these devices every 60 days. Simply sign into My OSN, go to the Settings menu and select Manage Devices.
If you try and sign in on a new device that’s not registered with us, you’ll be directed to the device management page.

thanks, turns out I have 2 computers registered and it won’t allow me to remove and add freely, I have one computer for example I can remove after like 56 days I think.

But found a loophole, I can invite family members to create their own accounts so just invited myself.

Mmmh, that loophole doesnt work. You can create sub-accounts but all accounts together can still only have 2 active devices.

Just need to remove an existing one through MyOSN and use your iPad once to view some video. That way it will automatically become a listed device

Did you know that with the Apple TV you can now watch Hulu Plus without the need for VPN? 😛

Just found that out yesterday and tried it out it’s awesome walla just needs a faster connection.

Its terrible service. The videos are very poor in quality. Just watch whatever ppl upload to youtube better.
The bbc iplayer and channel 4 on demand are way much much better as they r in decent quality.

Even mbc shahid is better than the osn service.

This is really a crap. I mean facilitating a customer with conditions and restrictions then why facilitate?

2 devices are fine. But removing in 60 days is just ridiculous. Moreover, it’s not mentioned anywhere before the registration that one should not Play until not sure about the device they are gonna add permanently.

I called in the customer service and got replied that we should have seen the FAQs it is mentioned. One should have to read FAQs before registration LOL.

Stone age policy and tools. Since June 2014 I have been listening that its gonna be maximum 5 devices but until today just 2 devices.

OSN Pain.

Bye
