They money generated goes towards the Bayt Lothan music fund which is used to train musicians and get equipment etc.. etc.. Bayt Lothan is non-profit.

mmhmmm. That is sufficiently vague. ‘music fund?’, ‘train musicians?’ who are these musicians being trained? Ask around. Performers are getting scammed for this ‘fund’and ‘equipment’. I work in music and entertainment related logistics and with the setup they have, nothing costs 10/12 KD per person. It’s just a little cheap not to pay ppl who are putting in practice time, talents and skill – probably playing original music – for these non descript costs

what do you mean vague? do you even know what bayt lothan is? No one said the KD10/12 is going to pay for this event. I said it’s going to the Bayt Lothan music fund which is used to train musicians and get equipment and instruments. Performers are not getting scammed, the performers are VOLUNTEERING to play at this event for free, they were not conned or forced to so stop being a dick.

non-profits all around the world proudly post their financials and audits —- except kuwait.
bayt lothan has BIG sponsors and BIG private donors.
why are they charging 12kd again?

I’m not sure but since you seem to have numbers and figures yourself could you share with us who the sponsors and donors are and how much they’re each donating? Thanks.

nbk proudly says they are a GOLD sponsor. Assuming 3 levels of sponsorship,
i’d say NBK pays 10,000 kd a year

bayt lothan has no rent with minimal up keep. staff is basic …….but executives could be skimming.

oh that’s right, NO public audit
and 10-12 a pop at fund raisers…..

look to the dar for a better and more trnasparent non-profit

Hi, I’m Ayman Ali, I am the new Music Coordinator at Bayt Lothan. I’ve seen most of these comments and I find it regrettable that you view our establishment this way.
In the case that these negative comments are not just spam. I would like to take the time to clarify a few things.
The Music Fund exists solely so we can pay for the things we rent and hopefully if we break even, buy things like speakers and mixers, instruments and seating instead of renting them for extraordinary amounts.
As for our financing, if you feel so strongly about how we are skimming… I will very gladly receive you at Bayt Lothan which has been running with a respectable reputation for the last 20 years. My email is [email protected] for you and anyone who would like to inquire about any and all goings on within our house.

Also, I would like to acknowledge and thank Mark for his attempt to answer these questions… and thank him sincerely for his ongoing support of our house.
