This is another new music video, it’s by Kuwaiti rapper Arabique who’s currently signed to the Bahraini record label Outlaw Productions. I’m not trying to take anything away from him but is it me or are there too many Kuwaiti rappers? Why aren’t there more metal heads like Faisal Al Salem?

because its much easier to “pretend” you can rap as opposed to other genres where musical intstruments / a hint of talent is required.
put on a generic beat, throw in the word bitches and nigga amidst your complaints of your 1st world problem and voila, kuwaiti rap..
what a joke
Because It’s much easier to pretend you know anything about music and criticize it, when one has no talent to show.
This is a perfect example of why Kuwaiti’s are hesitant to share their talent.
Peop[le suggest that there should be more kuwaiti rockers. There are, but they face the scrutiny of fellow kuwaiti’s for being a “wanna be.”
What is it exactly that us Kuwaiti’s do?
A very small minority of us are innovative or creative in any way.
Most of our life-long goals as Kuwaiti’s is to own a exotic car. Do you have any idea how depressing that is?
We criticize the witty, talented and brave, with nothing to show.
I say WE because it is a problem we face as a society.
S, I disagree with you, this isn’t, nor are any of these Kuwaiti’s jokes.
The only joke I’ve observed is the talentless, tasteless and lazy criticizing something they do not understand.
Props to my brother Arabique. The only Kuwaiti HipHop artist signed in a label in the GCC, Outlaw Productions.
signed to a label.
Excuse the typo’s, didn’t have time to review before posting.
I agree with BigMo ,
but to some extent I agree with spoiledq8 too.
Spoiledq8 , you need to realize that unlike other of their age ,they don’t go around in cars harassing girls or what not , they are actually trying to make a positive difference. Their work may not be great , but their effort must definitely be applauded. In a place filled with negative influence, they are trying to make that difference!
That said, the only criticisim we should give should be constructive, You guys need a lil more work and the sooner you leave autotune , the better for you.
I wish you all the best 🙂
i have been studying music for 12 years, and am involved in jazz.. I think i have an idea of how music works, so eat your ownd words “big mo”
I also moved out of the country 11 years ago for countless reasons, because of how big of a “joke” it is.
In case you haven’t noticed, if you scroll up there’s a video that contradicts your criticism of Kuwaiti rap
on*
@Arabique, you beat me to it! I was about to write the exact same thing! What Spoiled Q8 is referring to is AMERICAN rap!! It’s nice to see something that actually goes against the stereotypes of rap in general so keep up the good work!
Will do Kristi!
tikfa are you trying to be smart?
granted its not as bad as BIG D and all the other absolute fails who literally know nothing about music..
but get a grip on yourself and look up modesty
Can I see anything you’ve done on jazz?
Look up modesty for what? I never said I’m the greatest or anything like that.
My point was that none of the following actually applies to my song:
“put on a generic beat, throw in the word bitches and nigga amidst your complaints of your 1st world problem and voila, kuwaiti rap..”
I know, it’s unbelievable that people feel the need to air their opinions without actually having viewed the video. And just because autotuning has been done to death doesn’t mean that it can’t be done tastefully in some circumstances. If you”ve studied music for 12 years you should know that ‘music’ is a relative term.
I’m a jazz lover too, but I can see past the supposed ‘sophistication’of jazz and enjoy other genres.
Arabique, goodonyer man! Loved the video AND the track.
And BigMo – I could not agree more with your ideas on how futile most of the aims in Kuwait are.
You’ve both looked beyond ‘doing Kuwait proud'(that whole thing annoys the piss out of me) and taken on international standards.
Kudos to both of you.
I think it has something to do with the fact that Arabic is a poetic language so Rap comes natural I think.
I wanna see a Kuwaiti Reggae singer!:)
all sound the same.. autotuned garbage
where are all the rockers?
There needs to be Kuwaiti singers who have music like Florence + The Machine,Ed Sheeran,Daft Punk,Ellie Goulding,Paramore or something like that. I always hear, “Kuwaiti rapper this” and “Kuwaiti rapper that”, Its so repetitive!. Those who are musically talented should turn towards different genres than rap or hip hop.
I think it’s because it’s much harder to form a band and create a good rock/metal song.
jeez whats wrong with you guys. this stuff is awesome!
Yeah definitely better than most things put out there in Kuwait!
Thank you djelibaby!
Can I have an Autograph 8)
Email me your mailing address to [email protected]
I’ll send you a signed copy of my next album (Lucid Dream) when it drops next month!
sure thing 🙂
There is a hidden level of Art with Hiphop and Rap…People dont get it unless they try it… Just listen to the beat…and try to say something relevant with the tempo of the beat… It is an art trust me…
Arabique is the best rapper I heard in Kuwait. You can download an album he made off his YouTube channel. I love listening to it from to time. Keep it up Arabique, I’m sure you’re gonna do great things inshallah.
Allah yisma3 minik inshallah!
pretty goood Arabique! cool lyrics tooo, flow is kickin too 🙂
Much Appreciated tourshi!
Arabic time == see you at 8 means I’ll get up at 8, and won’t leave my house til 10pm
No one aspires to be a doctor anymore, what a shame!
I’m going to graduate (this may inshalla), with an Electrical Engineering degree on a Merit Scholarship, from a prestigious institution in the United States.
Inshallah , You will make it big in this world 🙂
ajma3een inshalla 😀
Mabrook! I don’t see anything wrong with someone who has a back-up plan in case music doesn’t pan out. I know some guys who have no ambitions in life except to crusie down Gulf Street and act like gangsters, those are the ones that kill me. I could always take them on a trip with me to Compton in California to see how long they would last 😛
Allah yibarik feek!!! In all honesty though, Im going to keep making music regardless of what happens because I love it too much.
Loving this!!! Best I’ve heard in a while. Definitely a fan.
Not bad, not bad at all.
I really like it. not a big fan of the video, but the song is pretty cool.
keep it up
lol 9ij far5
I’ve got nothing against rap and its great to see new talent like this but I’m still hoping for a Kuwaiti version of Zack de la Rocha or something in that vein.
I think the song is awesome and so is he. I applaud him for his determination and the passion he has for his dreams through his lyrics. All the negative people need to sit the hell down and shut up unless they have something better to show off to back it up. You all need to understand that musicians in this country don’t exactly live in the most creative of atmospheres so the fact that talent and passion to succeed like this is emerging should be met with positivity. Music will get better if we support people who obviously are talented, and I think Arabique is one of them. Keep going Arabique! Looking forward to your album!
+100
Good work. Keep it up.
Kuwait, GCC and the Arab world is an oppressed society in general. Disagree as much as you can, but it is the truth.
On a daily basis, we are bombarded with speech on what is permissible and what is not. We are reminded regularly about the haram, halal, the correct, and the ban on this or that, hell, heaven and most of all there is a general consensus on how the west is against us. And it feels like there is a resistance to occupation in every neighboring country.
This creates an underdog sentiment. Hip Hop is a culture of underdogs. It started like that.
What’s more and especially during these current times is, there is an attitude of struggle within the Arab world. A Struggle against the status-quo and a struggle within oneself, where do I stand ? who’s opinion is accurate ? Am I siding with this team or do I join this side ?
Hip hop was created as a struggle against society; it was a means for the oppressed to have a voice.
Rapping is like an impact sport, you are always competing. Whether you are a good rapper or not, I know one thing, they are all obsessive about it. Everyone who raps thinks he/she are the best rapper around and rightly so. They have to.
I think that is why you see so many upcoming artists; it is an easy and convenient means to express yourself artistically. It is acceptable yet looked down upon which doesn’t matter. If it is acceptable than I am doing it, if you look down on me, thank you, it’s only going to make me more convinced, i.e. the underdog.
I am all for rappers coming up, we need more and more and more. I don’t care if you are a great rapper or a mediocre one. Express yourself to the fullest because we need it in this part of the world.
Frankly I do not care if they are talking about guns, bitches, money etc. I experience the same thing in movies every single day. These rappers will grow out of it eventually. But what they would have done is sharpened their skill of rapping and they can then move on more conscious content.
What I do ask of rappers is not to approach something you have no experience in, like if you have never carried a gun don’t talk about shooting my face, the listener knows you are not sincere. Be genuine with your content, it will come across passionately and your skill will be more appreciated.
As for metal heads, I have no idea what it takes to become a metal head. What I know is they are as passionate as any other artist, they just express themselves differently. I say more metal heads.
This is good rap that i’d listen to anyday! Cool tune
