Music composer: Fatima Al Qadiri

FADER, a US based music-culture-fashion publication has an interview with Kuwaiti music composer Fatima Al Qadiri who’s currently based out of New York. I hadn’t heard of Fatima until just a few moments ago so I found all this pretty interesting. Her latest EP is titled Desert Strike and is inspired from the classic Sega Genesis game with the same name. The full story behind the album as well as samples of her song are on FADER which you can check out [Here]

Thanks Marko

Update: A reader reminded me that I do know her but I just didn’t recognize her. I posted about her last year and the post generated a lot of hate. [Link]

She had that electric techno music, it was very annoying to listen to. You posted a few times about her, with a lot of offensive an angry comments.

She looks cool and very artsy. I seriously hope she can make it in the US, God knows she probably won’t here.

good for her. hope she makes it big so all the haters on here can shut it. yes her music is weird but i believe she has talent that soon will be recognized.

What the hell is the point of wearing a sleeveless shirt with tons of pinholes in it? OH THE AGONY! OH THE DESPAIR! THIS WORLD IS DOOOOOMED!

Waiting for the ignorant comments about how ‘annoying to listen to electric techno music’, funny labeling electronic music, one of the most diverse genres of music, so easily..
People have different points of views, but its totally unfair to judge and label genre of music that has a very wide spectrum of sub-genres without even knowing what its called.
Better than the mainstream crap you hear on the radio, which ironically is turning more and more over to the dance/electronic genre of music nowadays.

I have all the respect in the world for musicians in particular and artists in general.

Good for her that she found her voice; and such a shame that she wouldn’t be afforded the same freedom/opportunity in her own country.

Best of luck to her.

I have heard a few of her productions. Pretty interesting stuff! I like that she is producing electronica, with different obscure sounds and rhythms.
