Spotify Premium for KD 1.5/month

In case you aren’t aware, Spotify has now launched in Kuwait and anybody can sign up to it (no need for an invite). You have two options, either a free account that has limited features and ads, or the premium account. Strangely, the premium account in Kuwait is $4.99 a month which is half the price of the US.

I’m not sure if its because the music library for Kuwait based accounts is a lot smaller, or if its a launch promo to get people to sign up. Whatever the reason, Spotify is here so if you want to sign up, click [Here]

Not so strange when you consider that catalog will be highly localized and possibly restricted. Plus I read that you have to start afresh, Spotify wont accept your existing login.

I was wondering the exact same thing as I’d like to know before renewing my anghami plus subscription which just ended.

If you change the location on the Spotify site to USA, you can see that the Premium account is $9.99 for everyone and $4.99 for students.

Just registered with premium, I did not have to recreate a n new account just updated the free plan which I have been using for the past year. The content so far doesn’t seem restricted I can see the music I have been playing this past month.

Also you do get a free 30 day trial, I don’t see why anyone would not give it a try. Accepts PayPal and the usual credit card options. Not sure snout local debit cards however.

I had checked just this morning and it was still not available so I guess it rolled out later in the day. $5 seems like a no-brainer and meant to compete with Anghami.
I still can’t find the service in my Sonos app. Hope they update it soon.

I just tried creating an account then as I was filling in my info I noticed that for sex they had an option of a non-binary gender. Long story short, I was triggered so I closed the damned page immediately.

Does anyone actually know if the library is restricted for KW based accounts?
Can someone shine some light topic on that if they have info?

Okay, so I have done some research.
It is the full library, apart from some songs which do not have the rights for being played in this region. But from my playlist of 300 songs only 3 are unavailable. So its not that bad.
Especially since its only 1.5kd a month.

I have tried premium accounts for atleast 3 months on the following

Apple Music: best if you listen to Arabic and English songs. but its really bad if your using android

Spotify: the Best UI for IOS and Android.but barely any Arabic songs

Anghami: good Arabic and English libraries. but the interface slightly awkward.

I have used Spotify premium for 5 years. but had to cancel it due to weak Arabic library. I will definitely switch back if they add more Arabic songs.

I’ve had Spotify on a US account for years, As soon as they announced that officially i logged in my account changed the country to Kuwait and paid the premium Subscription. It’s not any different at all it’s the same spotify. So if you’re worried the music would be different? no it’s still the same library worldwide. And all my playlists work fine nothing different.
