4 sentenced to death over Avenues murder

The Kuwaiti criminal court sentenced on Sunday four suspects to death for killing a Lebanese doctor with a cleaver in December last year.

Samir Yousef Jaber, 26, a Lebanese dentist born of a Kuwaiti mother, was repeatedly stabbed with the cleaver following a disagreement with the four young men at Avenues Mall.

It seems all four individuals involved in the murder will be getting the same sentence. [Link]

Justice well served.

But how is the man considered Lebanese if he’s born in Kuwait to a Kuwait mother? It’s 2013 move on.

so what? the law in kuwait is that children follow their father nationality, not mothers, unless father and mother get divorce

well do you want subsidized housing, food and loans along with 6000KD when
you get married or do you want westernized immigration laws? You can’t have
both.

So why does the man get to pass those down and the woman doesn’t? That’s a stupid argument anyway because the government has more than enough money to give that to anyone with a Kuwaiti mother.

i agree which is why the law should be changed no citizenship to those with a non GCC parent whether it’s a kuwaiti father or mother only Kuwaiti and GCC citizens should be eligible for citizenship

NO THATS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT I MEANT.

Kuwaiti mothers should have Kuwaiti children. Kuwaiti fathers should have Kuwaiti children. Don’t want all of Saudi becoming Kuwaiti.

This wont stop anything . There are a lot of such goons out there on the road, waiting to kill innocent people.

This might not mean the end to similar madness in the future but sure sends out a strong message..

thank goodness this happened and they didnt get away with wasta! i hope the hangings take place in public

I didn’t read the papers yet but did it make the front page ?

Yes – It might have an impact
No – It wont have an impact, move on :/

How many times has a non-kuwaiti been killed in a public place and the killer got away? People look for any reason to feel persecuted

I’m a psychic… and I sense a strong energy in the atmosphere…

….wait…

…its telling me something…

…the future is telling me that the criminals will appeal the court ruling… that their verdict will be reduced to life in prison to some… and 15 years for others… that all of them will have their sentences reduced to community service or receive full pardon after memorizing chapters of the Quran….

***end of prediction***

actually yeah good point! everyone has been super quick to condemn at the drop of a hat when only ONE of these guys actually killed someone!

What a waste of life, it saddens me to see so many young healthy and capable lives go to waste. The only purpose of existence for some people is to serve as a bad example, while a few others are born to fall victim. A tragedy none the less, from whichever way one views it.

many of these problem starts with the parents education of their children, and the parents themselves not considerate towards expatriates. Most of such crimes are committed towards expats, because many children grow watching their parents not care a shit about expat’s life, and always thinks they can get away easily after hurting an expat. I should also say that there are a big percentage of educated folks who are just the opposite too.

It’s not just the parents. Kuwait as a whole does not consider non Kuwaitis people (unless they’re the “right” kind of foreigner).
