Arby’s Coming to Kuwait This Year

Restaurant group Arby’s is reportedly planning to open 25 locations in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia over the next seven years in its first international expansion since 2010.

The Middle East locations will be owned and operated by Johnny Rockets regional franchise owner Kharafi Global, Arby’s chief executive Paul Brown told Bloomberg. The first is expected to open in Kuwait this year. [Source]

A&W
Arby’s
Chick-fil-A
In-N-Out

My wish list is getting shorter.

Both them and Wendy’s had franchises early in the 90s then left. A lot of franchises are getting desperate for that foreign money now, even Disneyland has a china location opening up

Dude, why would you want that incredibly homophobic establishment here?

Please don’t tell me you’re one of those guys who think its ok that their founder donated to very dangerous organizations just because they make the best tasting generic fried chicken sandwich.

I’ve never pegged you for someone who’s like that.

Much love.

Firstly they apologized secondly I love their whole concept not just the food. Did you know they will only sell you one location? You can’t own multiple branches because they want the owners to give their location all their attention. Their locations are also some of the cleanest and at this one I went to there was an old woman going around making sure everyone had what they wanted and was like super nice.

Then the fried chicken…. Yum

Too little, too late, the apology did not cut it with anyone because the money was already donated, their stance did not change and let’s face it, the whole thing reeked of damage control.

That being said, their chicken is allegedly the best amongst generic fast food chains (all my friends think so), their customer service is near impeccable and they give all of their workers Sundays off which is an antiquated idea yes, but given that America’s labor laws are non-existent thus giving way to worker exploitation, I applaud them for doing that.

They’re still fucking assholes in my and every true blue liberal’s book.

Google: define liberal

“willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one’s own; open to new ideas.”

You and Chick-fil-a may have something in common.

I kid I kid.

Didn’t A&W used to be here? I thought when I arrived in 2002 that there was an A&W in Salmiya? I know places come and go, just trying to see if I remember correctly…I remember that Dairy Queen was here a long time ago, then was gone, and has since reopened…

Both A&w and Dairy Queen were open in kuwait in the 80s. They both shut down, made a come back in the late 90s, shut down and now diary queen has come back for the third time, A&W hopefully will come back again as well.

If im not mistaken, arbys was the first fast food restaurant to open in Kuwait a long long time ago

Maybee but im pretty sure i recall my mom saying the only fast food restaurant they had when they were young was Arbys but i’ll double check on that

She probably just wasn’t aware of the other chains. I’ve lived on Salem Mubarek Street since the late 70s so I’m very familiar with the history. Dairy Queen was there before A&W and A&W before Arby’s. I also believe KFC and Hardees were both there before A&W but I honestly don’t remember. I do remember when Hardees introduced the Big Deluxe and Mushroom Swiss, I think it was in 1988 or 1989. Then you had Hungry Bunny but since that wasn’t a international franchise it doesn’t count.

Ok my bad. After checking it turns out to be wimbys not arbys. She says there was a branch in shamiya in the 60’s

I went to Taco Bell this week, first time in Kuwait. I don’t normally eat fast food in USA since coming into adulthood. But I will say that this Taco Bell experience kicks the socks off a fast food experience in the USA. Essentially it is the same ingredients, but the presentation quality and customer service was impressive.

I don’t know how I feel about this. It invokes a lot more questions than answers. I don’t think I’ll start eating fast food, regardless.

You have all this restaurants in ur wish list, yet again every now and then u complain and nag about how many new restaurant malls they open all over kuwait !!

Probably not. From what I heard, they’re only in California, and the guy who owns In-N-Out doesn’t even want to expand to other states.

Have you ever looked at Shake Shack’s expansion?

They were in Kuwait before they expanded to California, btw

Fuck California they were in Kuwait before they expanded on the east coast lol. They had two locations in NY and Kuwait was the third one.

Yummy! Looking forward for Arby’s roast beef sandwiches!

A&W was great when it was open here in Kuwait.

I think it is hard to have Chic-fil-A in Kuwait, but nothing is impossible when we already have Shake Shack and Five Guys!

Nothing special with Wendy’s, just a normal fast food restaurant

In-and-Out is the most overrated restaurant in the world, average local burger places in Kuwait are much better

naaah, In-N-Out isn’t overrated, I had it considerably when I was in LA last year and early this year and it’s easily a top 10 burger. Just manage your expectations, tourists go there expecting a gourmet burger when it’s basically a McD alternative for Cali’s.

THIS. it’s just another fast food joint. I notice people who are disappointed with it are the ones who literally dream to go to Cali just to try in-n-out.

Yay!

We have a fellow Washington/Oregon resident in our midst!

Burgerville has delicious organic seasonal items on their menu, like Marionberry milkshakes and recycles ALL of the waste in all of their locations, who the fuck else does that?

Burgerville is the greatest.
