Yesterday it was announced that in order to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus, movie theaters in Kuwait would be temporarily shut down. I understand the idea behind this, but I think there were more people waiting in line for a burger at Wachamean last night than there were people at the movies. If we’re closing down theaters and schools because it’s this big of a deal, then we should really close down the whole country for two weeks and not just the cinemas.
Note: Just to clarify, I don’t want the country to shut down, quite the opposite, I think businesses are suffering as is.

people can survive without movies for longer than they can survive without burgers.
having said that, waiting in line is not the ideal way to get food.
They should shut down malls and restaurants now. Not when thousands are infected.
Businesses are already suffering as is because of the virus, shutting down the country would basically result in a lot of people losing their jobs and businesses shutting down. Not sure what the solution is, maybe shut down the borders so life in Kuwait can continue as normal without fear of the virus coming in?
The borders were not shut down in time. Many asymptotic carriers already came in primarily from Iran. Economic interest should not be put ahead of life. Look at Italy and what’s happening to them now. The government should decree a quarantine and figure out a way to compensate businesses. I know that now with the price of oil cheaper than bottled water the government is hurting, but when the hospitals are overrun, and people are keeling over in the street, its not going to cost any less.
And now it’s happening all over again with people coming from Egypt
We went to the movie last night, when I got out I saw the news of shutting down theaters. Our movie had around 30 people inside.
Genuinely wonder what was your thought process when you decided to go sit on a seat that hasn’t been properly cleaned for years? Yolo?
You do know how the virus spreads yeah?
Yes you can get it from an armrest
Just the cinema chair armrest of does it apply to all armrests?
That didn’t age well did it? Snarky Mark
?
There are a million different ways to die very suddenly. You could die from a splinter going into your thumb. A coconut could fall on your head as you relax in an island paradise. Who knows, some guy could throw his lit cigarette butt off the balcony and it could set your clothes on fire. You get to choose what you’re scared of. You can’t live being scared of everything.
i’m sure a coconut falling on your head isn’t going to kill the person next to you. viral diseases can, hence the vigilance.
Thankfully got to see Parasite yesterday before this was announced. Businesses must be sufffering heavily especially in low foot traffic places like old Kout where 1954 is located. Ghost town..
Is it still safe to dine out in restaurants? Am seeing ppl attend events and going to restaurants as usual on Instagram but also reading reports of restaurants requested to sterilize all the utensils and cutleries.
I’m still eating out since it’s safer than my cooking
LMAO. Out of the ball park with that one.
Mark, I trust your taste in Burgers, is wachamean worth trying?
Yeah it’s currently my favorite burger place along with Lucky Bun and BBT.
Lol, you had to give the clarification at the end.
Bruh, You got you wish…..sorta. Kuwait it pretty much shut down! No flights in or out for 2 weeks and National Holiday except for folks under the Ministry of Defense apparently getting screwed over!
It’s better to shut down supermarkets first, now a days there is huge crowd in supermarkets because of it there is high chance of spread of corona virus
