I’m not trying to be pessimistic here but I passed by the new airport this past weekend (picture above) and I can’t see how it will be completed by August 2022. That’s just two years away which seems crazy but then again, it’s a Diwan Amiri project so maybe 2 more years of construction doesn’t seem too far reached.

The new airport is not a Diwan Amiri Project. The project owners are MPW / Civil Aviation Directorate.
“Gulf Consult in association with Foster + Partners (UK) have been commissioned by the Ministry of Public Works on behalf of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to undertake the Study, Design and Supervision of the New Passenger Terminal Building, Terminal 2, at Kuwait International Airport.”

i kinda remember reading that the Diwan Amiri took over the project, will look for info after i’m done with work
Hi, they didn’t. Its MPW then after completion hand over to the DGCA.
Yes August 2022 the main terminal will be completed, if you want to know more, I work there, Your welcome to visit site as my guest if you want me to give you a site tour.
The real question: What the heck are we gonna have to complain about once all the roads get fixed and we have a decent airport?
Lool trust me, while locals might be satisfied-ish most of the people on this website will definitely find something to shit on this country about. Considering many of the countries they praise (namely the uae) has many of the same issues but would rip them off the face of the planet for even thinking something unpleasant about their country.

Just a few days ago a citizen in UAE criticized the Municipality and he was forced to apologize publicly. But at the end everybody loves Dubai.

Have you been to Mahboula? I lived there from 2003. It’s insane. Driving from the other side of the 30 into Mahboula is like driving from a nice suburban neighborhood in the US into a town in Syria or something. The mountains of trash accumulating in October was horrible. No trash pickup for ages. Look nobody forced their way in here looking for a job. Kuwaiti companies and Kuwaiti leadership hired them because they were needed. The reason expats are here in the first place is because they were brought in. Asking for some semblance of equitable civil services isn’t begging. We know we’re never going to stay in Kuwait beyond the end of the job. All that people want is that they get to work in a clean, hygenic, safe environment.
In the 6 months that I have been here, it does not seem that any of the projects(buildings, roads, etc I drive by/see daily ever make much progress?
