World’s 100 Most Powerful Arabs

Arabian Business released their list of “World’s 100 Most Powerful Arabs” and only two from Kuwait made the list, Mohamed Alshaya of MH Alshaya and Omar Alghanim of Gulf Bank. The 100 people on the list were grouped into various groups, Mohamed Alshaya made it into the “Leaders” group while Omar Alghanim made it into the “Thinkers” group. Check the full list out [Here]

The study is based on how much money they got, otherwise I would be on #1 list for being powerful on term of strength.

Most businesses associate with Alghanim seems to somewhat more competent than their competition. I realize your experience may differ, I am only talking about mine.

It might be biased, but honestly I see the lack of Kuwaitis on there as Kuwait’s problem, not theirs. Sure, automatic reaction is to say: “Two!? WTF!”, but then honestly step back and look. Who has honestly been CONSISTENTLY groundbreaking in Kuwait in the last decade?

Maybe if Wataniya Airways hadn’t been such a disaster you would have seen a third.

I am not talking about Kuwaitis, I am talking about a list that claims to be “Arab” who number 300 million, yet a third of the list are Emirates who number only 1 million of those Arabs.
