Nearly there

Boston SX55

My car speakers and multi-amp wiring harness arrived today. I now have everything I need to start the installation except for the RCA and speaker cables. I will get those from Mr System in Shuwaikh sometime this week. Yesterday I passed by Ace Hardware to get some pollyfill which everyone online advises to use to fill in the enclosure behind the speaker. Surprisingly they didn’t have any which is weird because they have everything. If you haven’t been to Ace Hardware recently you should because they’ve rearranged sections, canceled some unimportant ones and added new ones with more useful stuff. I really love the place. So after Ace I passed by Barakat in Salmiya which is a sewing store, I ended up finding pollyfill there which is basically pillow stuffing. 250grams for 750fils.

I also got a call from Cadillac today, I am going to be test driving the new 2008 CTS over the weekend. I checked out some pictures of the car online and it looks pretty interesting so I am looking forward to it. [Cadillac CTS]

that is cool, and thanks about the tip with the pollyfill, i bought a 500kd system that i didn’t even know how to protect it! anyays can you post pics on how to place the pollyfill (i know seems like im a noob)

make sure mr. system places good filters and good cables, they do play part in the quality, are you going to place a battery? coz they really help in keeping the power in your car stable, trust me you don’t want a disco going on with your car lights…

anyways good luck!:)

Tiesto, the pollyfill is not about protection, it helps improve the sound. You just stuff it behind the speaker like in this picture below

Mr System won’t be installing the system for me, I will just be purchasing the RCA and Speaker cables from them. I won’t be installing a battery My system is’t going to be really powerful, its 40w x4 and 250w for the subwoofer. Its more sound quality then loudness.

i think pollyfill also works as a dampener, you don’t want screws falling from your door 2 years from now 🙂
i don’t know how big are your speakers, i used 16 gauge wires on mine (installed my system by myself)
finally, you don’t need a battery, a capacitor works just fine. unless you are planning to fill the car with speakers and sub-woofers.
