On my way to Marzouq’s place tonight I ran over a beautiful white fluffy cat. It was horrendous but there was nothing I could do to stop it. I was exiting the the Fahaheel expressway going around 80km/hour when suddenly out of no where this white fluffy cat jumped out of the bushes and right in front of my Wrangler. I slammed the brakes but it was useless the cat was too close, I quickly centered the car to pass over the cat but the cat still hit the bottom of my car. I pass over it and look in the rear view mirror, I saw a cloud of smoke from my brakes and then noticed the cat bouncing madly in the middle of the road. I couldn’t stop since there were a lot of cars behind me but I was hoping one of them would run over the cat and put it out of its misery. I felt awful and the thing is for the brief second I did see the cat it didn’t look like a street cat but more like someones pet. Sucks!

Killer!!! just kidding 😛 … it’s ok mark the same thing happen to me but with a black cat … i was on my way to the mosque when i hit her him/her i look back and i found her raising one hand i felt really bad about it, the big surprise happened on my way back home i didn’t find him/her!! … at that moment i remember the say “Cat have 7 souls” … 🙂 so i hope that he/she stand up and walk proudly 😉

A bird flew right into my car yesterday as I was driving and I felt miserable that it died.

its ok mark, there was nothing you could do about it… it happened to me once. i went over a Pigeon. i didnt notice it , when it just flew down by the side… and went “Puut!!”
i stopped to check … was a sad sight…
i cribbed about it for 4 days.. then was fine. Atleast i didnt do it purposely .. like other people.. who beat up their animals for fun.
that feeling sucks!

there’s an excuse for the cats but it happenned for me 3 times so far i ran to pigeons !! can u blieve that !! i stepped into two of them and the third one the peak of the bird hited the front of my car :S

black cats are bad luck, which means that white cats are a blessing for you…
With cats you just keep driving normally, don’t try to dodge them. They are smart and fast enough to avoid something coming at them, but when you move to “avoid” them you are actually aiming at them.
I know how it feels, i have been through a similar situation once.
Yikes! What a wretched feeling that must be. I once saw a cat being run over on the turnpike(don’t ask me how it got there). It was horrible – the poor thing had its gut ripped apart as it lay writhing in pain till the end which came, in like, a half minute.
May God rest its soul in peace. Amen!
By far pigeon-squishing is the worse…when you look in the mirror and see those feathers all over the place….

I saw the poor cat it turm to flat black cat, you could be a hero if just stopped and saved it.
You can’t save a cat after its been run over, maybe if you just ran over a leg but not the whole cat. Plus it would have been suicide for me to stop the car and get out of it.
Mark, it’s a terrible feeling but it’s not like you aimed for the cat (I’ve seen that and it makes me ill even to think about it) and like you didn’t care. It’s just sad.

Sosmeone asked me about the most horrifying thing I ever saw. I recounted the memory of seeing a beautiful kitten writhing in pain on the 605 FWY near LBC. I was so stricken with feelings of anger, guilt, powerlessness… I sped by and saw poor kitty living out the final minutes of its life in absolute agony. It was heartwrenching to imagine something so precious experiencing pain, neurons firing, the poor, poor kitty moving all about… Writhing because its whole existence is pain – not love, not spoiled comfort, not joy… Pain. If the freeway had been less busy I would have stopped the vehicle and killed it with my boot. I wish that I could have ended poor kitty’s pain. Alas, kitty writhed on as I passed. The paws clawing at the heavens as if to say “why me?”. Blessed Kitty I hope that your brave little soul took from that which it needed. And, if you take a higher rebirth – perhaps a human this next time – I would love you as my child and protect you from all harm. The freeway is no place for a kitty. I miss you kitty and I am sorry that I couldn’t end your pain. At least one other being cried for you that day. And, you weren’t alone in that horrible, miserable place.
