The KOC Archive: The Ahmadi Post Office

These are some photos of the Ahmadi post office I got from my last trip to the KOC photography archive. They’re probably dated back to the early 1960s.

really glad you remembered these, dude. i live in ahmadi so looking at these is just so surreal (granted i have no idea where this particular batch of pictures was taken or if it even exists anymore lol).

hopefully you’ll continue posting these on a regular basis, it’s so cool to see how ahmadi has changed.

thanks for this!

How is it living there? It kind of feels like its stuck in the past in how to look, which is not a bad thing.

i def get what you’re saying. it honestly does feel like you’re stepping into a very different part of kuwait. the houses look dated. but still, it’s just got that neighborhood feeling that i, personally, don’t find anywhere else in kuwait. it’s got ample space too which is important to me. it’s just so comfortable to stay at home, host people in the lawn, take the dogs out for a walk etc etc. if i ever feel the need to venture out to a more happening part of kuwait, we’re just talking about a 15-20min drive and that’s honestly not a big deal when you get to retire for the night in such a peaceful place.

Roller shutter’s back in the 1960’s seems kinda odd, The earliest patients I can find for roller shutters are 1973… Something don’t seem right with photo’s.
