For those of you who aren’t aware of this there is, a section in the 248AM Forum called “What People are Selling”. It’s a section in the forum I created a few years ago where people who have items they want to sell can do so in that section. Since then the section has become very active and you can find a ton of good deals there. I’ve purchased a lot of items in the forum and sold a lot of items as well. My latest purchase was a like new condition Nikon 50mm f1.4 lens (pictured above next to my 50mm f1.8) with local warranty for KD70. Note: The pictures below are for people searching the web for side by side size comparison between the Nikon 50mm f1.8 and the 50mm f1.4. I couldn’t find a proper picture when I was searching so hopefully this will help someone in the future. The 50mm f1.4 is just slightly heavier and just very slightly taller than the f1.8. The build quality of the f1.4 lens is very similar to my 28mm f2.8 lens and 85mm f1.8 lens although the casing doesn’t seem to contain any metal parts.

That’s great! I was planning to sell my 1.4 (exactly the same) this summer when I go to London on eBay. It’s in perfect condition and used very little. If anyone is interested, let me know.

The buy/sell section is pretty awesome but definitely needs an overhaul, like better rules (bidding should be abolished), giving the ability of closing threads to the posters themselves (like many other buy/sell forums), and no going into the threads and claiming they can get whatever the person is selling new and 50% less at a store with no actually evidence (also known as trolling)… okay sometimes you need to point out obvious stuff but I see this in a lot of threads and most of the time it’s not true.
Yousef well I have to disagree with you on a few points:
– Bidding, if someone wants people to bid on his item he should have the right to. It’s all about choice.
– Going into threads and telling people that the person is selling the item for expensive and gives details on where it can be found for cheaper or how much it costs new etc.. is something that makes the forum a great place.
– Regarding people closing their own threads thats not possible but the system currently in place works out nicely.

Mark maybe you should add a direct link to the sell/buy section on the top tab, you got plenty of space from contact to twitter. that might increase traffic.

Yes, the giving a poster the ability to close or edit the original post themselves would be helpful. I got banned for posting an updated thread of things I was trying to sell when I was moving and that sucked.
