I’ve posted about ordering supplements online before because of how ridiculously inflated the local prices are. The last time I posted about ordering supplements online I was recommending Amazon but since then I’ve found a new alternative, Sporter.
Sporter has been around for awhile now, even before my previous post in which I was recommending Amazon. But the reason I never wrote about them was because their prices weren’t that much cheaper than the local prices and they were still double that of Amazon. Things have changed recently and I have a theory to why.
I think previously they had a warehouse in Kuwait with the products housed there which meant they had to purchase the supplements from local suppliers with their inflated prices. So the products they sold on their website cost similarly to the products sold locally. Now I’m assuming they shut down their local warehouse since the items are now getting shipped to you directly from the UAE via DHL. So they’re selling the items closer to UAE pricing.
I tried them last week since I ran out of ZMA and they didn’t have my brand available locally. When I looked at possibly getting ZMA from a different brand, their prices were more than double those listed on Sporter. I usually get the Optimum Nutrition ZMA but I checked out “Muscle Pharm Z-Core PM” at the Oxygen store locally and they were selling it for KD14. On Amazon it was KD5 (without tax, shipping and local customs and clearance fees), while on Sporter it was for KD8.24 shipped to Kuwait. So nearly half the price of that of Oxygen and cheaper than if you ordered it from Amazon.
Not everything is priced as competitively but Sporter are now definitely a viable option to check before buying supplements locally. And because the products are coming in from UAE, you don’t pay any Kuwait customs, at leasts thats my theory since I didn’t have to pay DHL anything. Here is a link to [Sporter]

they could be depending on what you’re doing at the gym. most of it though i just take as a placebo affect, no idea if they do any good or not.
I like taking ZMA though since i tend to dream so much more when i take it before i go to sleep. i’m taking testofx to see if it helps me have energy by gym time, alpha brain because joe rogan, bcaa drink cuz it tastes good and i take it during workout so it let me thinks i am recovering faster, omega 3 and opti-men cuz they were cheap and i’m just making sure i’m getting all my vitamins, whey protein cuz i make a really good strawberry banana smoothie with it…etc..
I do a daily smoothie too. Must make the process fun and not just a grind.

I ordered things in the past form the UAE – such as a wallet – and had to pay customs via Aramex. The value of the shipment was less than KD 40

Last time I tried to order Optimum Nutrition products their customer service told me that they can’t ship that brand to Kuwait for some reason.
This post could not have come at a better time.
Last night I visited my local pharmacy and asked for a product, they did not have it and said they would get it for me. 149 dirhams. I am supposed to be picking it up tonight.
I read this post today so I checked it out, searched for the product and there it was, 79 dirhams !!! And they are throwing in a free product for good measure.
Made the order, got an email confirmation, two minutes later, another email saying it is being prepared.
My local pharmacy is in for a surprise tonight.

Why don’t you just buy supplements in pure form and mix them on your own. Much healthier and cleaner than buying off the shelf. Especially the protein since you can rarely find brands that have pure protein without the additives, i use PULSIN for protein and https://www.myprotein.com/home.dept for everything else
I am bodybuilding.com fan eversince I started working out, 6 years ago, the prices are cheaper than sporter for sure, I never compared them to Amazon tho.
on the pro’s of bodybuilding.com is the freebies that come on the side of your order i.e. (protein bars, extra jar of your favorite BCAA’s or Glutamine, Magazine etc.).
I’ve never ordered from bodybuilding.com, can you share with us a previous order you placed and the cost of shipping? Do they ship door to door or do u need to pick it up from the post office?
ps: I got a free chocolate oats protein thing with my order from sporter but i don’t care much about freebies
My last order was like couple of weeks ago, the shipping within the states is 9 USD for supplements worth 140 USD (full stack of protein, Aminos, Fat-burners), they discounted it to 142 USD.
The from states I usually move it with MyBox (from their agents in states to my doorstep in kw) service from Postaplus which cost 17.5 KD for almost 5kg inclusive clearance.
so the total 60 KD for items that could’ve at least cost me more than 120 KD from the local market.
Forgot to mention that I had a shipment once got lost with direct shipping from Bodybuilding.com and the compansate it me with double the stack (even the shorts i had with that order was regular shorts, they replace them with elite line a short worth of 50 USD compare to the ones i ordered were 14 USD). they have won a customer for life.
Does DHL deliver straight to your doorstep? Last time I ordered supplements, they got held at customs and I had to go to extract them from there (since the items were consumables, they required paperwork from Ministry of Health for clearance).

I did twice and it didn’t answer the question. I ordered supplements via DHL before and they got held at customs. Your post doesn’t address this.

Just to update, a while ago i was making my second order using Sporter and it turns out that they are charging 5KD DHL express shipping, whereas back in February it was free of charge. Do you have any idea why that changed lol ?

supplements are too costly in kuwait. some supplements cost half the price in dubai.
they have stopped shipping via DHL and now ship by UPS as DHL is no longer able to clear their supplements from customs, and takes 3-6 days to deliver.
