The Olympics

I didn’t get a chance to watch the Olympics opening ceremony but after seeing these pictures on Gizmodo I think I need to. From the pictures it looks like the opening ceremony was pretty cool so I am going to try and download the opening now. I need to get live TV at my place, I don’t even have a satellite dish… [Link]

it was insane.. gave me goosebumps. the chinese are really brilliant and the opening ceremony was mesmerising. you could tell they put months and months of hard work into it all. i really hope you get to see it

The ceremony was outstanding, i can’t help but stayed watching the brilliant Chinese shows motionless.
I am absolutely impressed, Obviously it was work of months if not years !

Anyone noticed how the flame tower appeared out of no where? I thought I had missed it before or it was kept in dark, but those photos at gizmodo show no flame tower!!

I can drop you a VHS copy @ your office,
Its not HDTV but from ordinary satellite broadcast (Jazeera Sports),,
4 hours long with some ‘not_very_brilliant commentators’

It was AWESOME! The olympic committee spent $1 billion on the ceremony I think and they spent 10 months in training to perfect what they did. AND the FIREWORKS! DAMN! There is nothing to describe it but WOW!

I’d seen bits and pieces of the opening ceremony at a friends place. What I found really amazing was that the light show on the ground of the stadium could have been done using a computer to control the sequence, but instead it was done manually by 100’s of men tapping switches at different intervals. That was just amazing, the coordination between 100’s of operators doing different rythms on the lights at the same time to give the desired effect. WOW!

i was at athens airport..we decided to have a lond transit to that we could watch… we were 20 mins late…. but it was nice and we left after we cheered for the kuwait team when they came out… they were all clapping with us 🙂
