Old Airport vs New Airport Size Comparison

Since I last posted about the new Kuwait airport in May, a lot of progress has been made based on satellite imagery from Google Maps. Since I could now clearly see the outline of the new airport, I decided I’d overlay our current airport just to get an idea of how big the new airport is going to be.

I managed to fit six of our current airpot over the new one (same scale). This means the new airport is roughly six times bigger than the current one!

The irony is that by the time they finish the new airport most expats will have left either by choice or due to the cost cutting and layoffs taking place across the board, and then they won’t need such a large airport anymore #sigh

God Bless! So much hatred, for what? A few mins extra here and there? Take it in a spirit that we will fix it next time you are around or working on it. Also, fixing things that get in a way.

Your airport is trash anyhow. It is the personnel who work there, not the structure itself, that makes it a chore to fly in and out of.

Ironically there is almost no progress on the support terminal which is supposed to be operational end of this year!

Well the only part that was updated was the terminal 2 photo. So the photo of the support terminal isn’t updated yet.

Now that’s an outside-the-box way to do it provided that similar scale is used.

It would’ve been, however, easier and far more accurate to have total floor area of old vs. new airport compared. In this case; new airport is 4.77 times bigger than the old one, roughly.
