UK Electronic Visa Waiver for Kuwaitis

Come Fly With Me

If you have a Kuwaiti passport you no longer need a visa to enter the UK, all you need is a visa waiver. A friend of mine recently got the waiver two hours after applying for one. It’s cheaper than getting a regular visa and pretty convenient if you’re planning an impulse trip.

The cost for an electronic visa waiver is £15 but it’s only valid for one entry. You can apply for the EVW by visiting the EVW website [Here]

I am shocked! I swear I looked at the post date! Mark that’s totally unaccepted to report such an important issue that late! We love you that’s why we blame you 🙂

It’s not been widely advertised as the visa processing place will lose a lot of business.
When I checked for my in-laws online I started by googling UK visa for Kuwaitis and struggled to find anything about it. I changed the search to UK visa waiver for Kuwaitis and found it moreorless straightaway.
But I bet if you go to the visa place in Kuwait it will be full of Kuwaitis putting themselves through the visa process and paying extra to get the visa done ‘quickly’.

Some people get the really long Visa (5 years or more), and are probably frequent going back and forth, so that option may be cheaper

But a less frequent traveler, this is the best way

I got my wife a 10 year one but she only has one year left on it. But she’ll definitely get the waiver visa next time.
The normal visa only makes sense if you’re going to travel 6 times a year to the UK .

My dad used this back in December, because we were flying out from South Korea and He couldn’t file an application at the embassy. Don’t know why this wasn’t talked about sooner.

Its been over 3 years that we have been doing this. It was first introduced when the sheikh went to London to visit the queen and it was highly publicised.

It doesn’t quite work for spontaneous trips as you have to apply for it at least 48 hours before your trip, so it might be worth mentioning.

I could be wrong, but I think the 48-hour period is when the waiver goes into effect, so you can get it in two hours but you still cannot enter.

Oh it definitely gets issued quick, I meant the system won’t let you apply for a visa if your flight is in less than 48 hours. You could go on and try it. Out say for example you wanted to book tomorrow’s flight to London. When you put in the date it will give you an error saying you have to request it 48 hours in advance.

For those who are wondering, even Tier 4 student visa procedures are much easier now as the UK Home Office has categorized Kuwait as a low-risk country. I recently applied for the student visa and things were much easier than before.

It’s been in effect for almost 2 years now, but of course it’s not heavily promoted as the UK embassy would much rather make tons of money off regular (expensive!) visas

UK embassy is a robber. It never shares important information proactively and through the right channels. A friend was recently denied boarding for not having a transit visa. He wasn’t even exiting the airport! Furthermore, he already had a long term multiple entry Schengen visa (for his final destination). BA never even informed via an email or SMS even though API was filled in much in advance.

BA told him upfront that he should have booked the ticket via a travel agent, or directly at the City office. BA wont tell you the visa requirement through the e-ticket / email, or even through an easily discover-able link on the website.

You can also get a student waiver visa, but only valid for 6 months, multiple reentry once approved.

Can I use a single EVW to travel into the UK multiple times, for example heading into London and then traveling to Paris, Berlin or any other EU countries, before going back to London for my return journey?
