Yesterday I was in Rihab Complex looking for Red Dead Redemption 2 (FYI: Might be out today in Kuwait depending on customs but most likely tomorrow) when I decided to go to the retro gaming store upstairs to check out what they had. I’d posted about that store on the blog a few years ago, it was called Global Game and was just filled with old retro video game consoles. But, a couple of months back the store got a facelift, a name change and I’m assuming, a new owner.
The Global Game store is now called Retro Dungeon and looks a lot nicer and more organized than it did before. The store still specializes in vintage gaming consoles and while there I spotted a whole bunch of them including:
NEC PC-FX
NeoGeo AES
NeoGeo CD
Nintendo 64
Nintendo Entertainment System
Nintendo GameBoys
Super Nintendo
Panasonic 3DO
Sakhr MSX
Sakhr MSX2
Sega Dreamcast
Sega GameGear
Sega Genesis
Sega CD
Sega Saturn
Sony PlayStation 1
Sony PlayStation 1 Dev Kit
Sony PlayStation 2
Sony PlayStation 2 Dev Kit
And more…
They also had a whole bunch of games, all nicely organized and all wrapped in plastic. The whole place looks way better than it did before but the prices are also on the high side. Somethings made sense, like KD120 for a NeoGeo AES or KD150 for the NeoGeo CD, but KD35 for Donkey Kong Country on the Super Nintendo and KD45 for Donkey Kong Country 2 just seemed over the top.
I used to have a pretty large collection of gaming consoles before I sold them all off (so much regret). But now I just have my Game & Watches and my SNES left which I pop out every so often to play on.
If you’re looking for vintage games or consoles, check Retro Dungeon out. They’re in an alleyway on the top floor of Rihab Complex, and their instagram account is @retro_dungeon

NOW I have a reason to go to Rehab.
This is the coolest thing EVER. I’m buying all the Castlevania and Disney games!
you know there is no reason for you to got to Rihab complex to check if they released RDR2 or not, that was the old days when you had to drive all the way to hawalli to check if the game is out.
now if the game is released they post it allover instagram, you just gotta follow couple of accounts on instagram who owns a store in Rihab.
what they do is that as soon as the shipment passes the customs and becomes clear they post on instagram that the game is released, they post it on insta even before the shipment reaches they store.
yeah but not every store gets the game at the same time. A lot of times some random stores that don’t even have names would have a game while the others would still not have them. So yeah I’ve got my numbers I call and accounts i check, but even if they tell me they don’t have the game yet, I still head down to Rihab and check for myself. 8/10 times I’ll find it.
Why don’t you buy games directly from the PSN store. Why CD?.
There are only number of games which are not available in the playstation store due to some regulations, otherwise, you can find all the games.
Because games come out in Rihab a few days before they become available on the store and also because once I am done with a game I can sell it. You can’t sell digital downloads.
Noted
Some stores break street dates and release games a week or so early so it’s worth a visit.
It’s a preference. I honestly like to buy my PS4 games in a physical form. On my switch, I like to get games digitally most of the time. The exception to this rule are Nintendo games! I can’t risk buying a Nintendo game digitally u.u I must buy them in all their glory.
Another good reason to visit rehab for me is to check figures store and comics store.. And to reminisce on the good ol’days that’s for sure haha
Whoever owns the store should turn it into a a video games museum. It’s a shame that he sell these gems..
why is it a shame? these games and consoles aren’t rare.
Mark, you should go to Super Potato in Tokyo, Japan
It is 3 floors of this stuff!
Super Potato? I love the name!
Yup! Here, check it out: https://youtu.be/6fYlBJR2yvM
Love the store name, but it would’ve been nice if the store was more dungeon-themed so that it would match the name.
Oh man, I totally forgot about Ys!
Great find, Mark! Such a fun and happy post!
Hi did you got RDR2 from rehab ? if its available in rehab how much its price now they selling in UAE why they banned here even witcher-3 released here with all nudity
Excuse me, Mr. Mark, but do they have Ataris? My father used to game on one and I think he’d like playing on them again.
